Hey there! Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achiever’s Blog Hop! The hop this month is dedicated to the impressions of the fabulous trip, which just ended a little over a week ago. You may have come from the blog previous to me on the list, but right now you are at Carol Payne Stamps. If at any time you get off track or hit a dead end, you can refer to the list at the bottom of each participating blog and find your way to the next one!

I was not able to go to Thailand; my husband was not particularly excited to travel the looong plane hours. I have taken one of my children on previous trips, but because my farmer husband hasn’t been able to attend an Incentive Trip since Hawaii 2009, I really hated to leave him behind again. I’m working hard to earn enough points to take him on the 2018 Incentive Trip, Alaska!

I earned enough points for Thailand but I don’t have any pictures to share or impressions of the trip. However, I was able to see some of the attendees Facebook posts about their trip. As usual, Stampin’ Up! did an excellent job of pampering and providing demonstrators and their guest with many unique opportunities to enjoy all that Thailand has to offer.

Instead, I created a card with the So Many Shells set to highlight the seaside aspect of Thailand:

I used the Emboss Resist technique, embossing the shell repeatedly on Glossy card stock with clear powder and my Heat Tool. I then used Sponge Brayers to roll first Sahara Sand and then Soft Sky ink over the embossed shells. After I achieved the ink intensity and smooth coverage I wanted I then buffed the layer all over with a Kleenex to remove any excess ink.

I stamped the greeting with Sahara Sand on Whisper White, layering it on Crumb Cake and then Soft Sky. I stamped a single shell with Soft Sky on Soft Sky card stock, hand-cut with Paper Snips, sponged the edges with Sahara sand, and then added a layer of Fine Tip Glue all over for dimension and gloss. I took a single thread from a piece of Burlap Ribbon, wound it around a couple of fingers, tied a knot to secure the loops, and then adhered behind the greeting a shell with glue dots.

Inside I stamped another So Many Shells sentiment with Sahara Sand ink, as well as a few more shells, using a masking technique to help the Soft Sky shell stand in front of the larger Sahara Sand one.

My project for this month features a stamp set I KNEW I had to have in my Demonstrator pre-order! I LOVE "High Tide"! I love the beach/lighthouse theme and all the sentiments! You can make TONS of projects with just this set! Be prepared to see lots of High Tide projects coming soon!

For today's project I used basic heat-embossing with White powder on Soft Sky. I used Island Indigo, Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky colors for a peaceful beach-y look.

After heat embossing the lighthouse and the greeting, I sponged a little bit of Soft Sky over and around the lighthouse and gently stamped the seagulls with the same color. I embossed the Crumb Cake layer with the Seaside folder.

Punching and matting the embossed greeting was a breeze with the Decorative Label Punch!

Inside I stamped another High Tide greeting with Soft Sky, which is a gorgeous color but difficult to photograph.

Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases Thinking of You!

Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases Thinking of You!

Hey there! August is winding down, but that just means fall and the Holiday Catalog are right around the corner!

Today's card was created for my monthly class at Donna's house. I used the Flourishing Phrases bundle to make a "thinking of you" card:

I used Whisper White Thick card stock for the card base, with Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White, and Basic Black.

After I cut the Basic Black flourish with the die, I adhered it to the card front with little dots of Fine Tip Glue.

The "Just a Note" from Flourishing Phrases fit perfectly inside the opening I cut with two of the Layering Circles Framelits!

I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for more interest.

The flourish stamp from Flourishing Phrases coordinates with the Flourish Die, but the die is not made to cut out the stamped image.
