Hello! I've been trying to get another video edited to post on YouTube, but it's not going very well, so I decided to share this gift card holder with you, inspired by Janet Baker:

Holly jolly giftcard holder 1

Isn't he just the cutest thing? I will have measurements and supply list at the end of this post!

Holly jolly giftcard holder 2

The original I found wasn't a gift card holder (at least not yet), but I thought the fold just screamed gift card! I love how his beard tucks in under his mustache to hold the card closed!

Here's the info!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Pop-up Gift Card Holder Take 2!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Pop-up Gift Card Holder Take 2!

I must add a few details to my handout for the Secret Garden Pop-up Gift Card Holder from earlier today!

Here's how to punch and make the pop-up section. Open up the top flap, the 2 1/2" wide one. Insert the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch over the fold line, pushing the paper in to the bottom of the punch and lining up the scallops evenly on each side of the fold as shown below:

Pop up punch 1

When you fold the card on the fold lines, the 2 1/2" flap folds down and looks like this:

Pop up punch 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Attach the embossed Secret Garden flower/1 3/4" circle/2 3/8" Scallop Circle layer to the part of the bottom flap of the card that shows through the punched opening. Use a generous amount of SNAIL adhesive or Sticky Strip on just the bottom third of the Scallop layer so opening and closing of the card will not detach the scallop.

There you have it! My ommission has been bothering me all day, and I have just now had time to get on here and correct it, so now I am relieved to be able to give you all the information you need to make this card with ease!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Fancy Fold!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Fancy Fold!

This card by Susie Wood was a real gem in the swaps I received this month! I'm not actually sure what the fold is called, but it's fun but doesn't really look that hard to figure out! It's definitely on my "to do" list!

Susie wood 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Lots of Melon Mambo going on here, from cardstock and Designer Paper to ink and 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon! Susie used Regal Rose cardstock for her accent color along with Whisper White for the focal images from Best of Birthdays.

Here's how it opens:

Susie wood 2

Like I said, and interesting fold, with lots of potential! I not only see cards, but pop-outs, and even a gift-card holder in the future of this one!

That's all for now. I needed to just leave you a quick post as today is the day for my right eye to be fixed by laser surgery! I'm actually looking forward to getting it done and having it behind me. Say a prayer for me around 2:15 today that I will remain as calm as I did last time.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Tropical Party Birthday!

Tropical Party Birthday!

Here's the card I promised to show you yesterday. I merged the giftcard layout from yesterday's post with elements from this cruise swap by Mary Robinson:

Tropical party cruise swap ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

I LOVED how the Square Lattice embossing folder gives a "grass thatch" look to the kraft cardstock, especially when it is sponged with a little Soft Suede! I took this concept and merged it with the giftcardholder card layout and came up with this:

Tropical gift card ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

Pretty neat, huh! I am pretty pleased with the result. I change up the focal point a bit by using the Scalloped Circle #2 Bigz Die for the Garden Green scalloped circle (a color that is retiring but will be replaced by the return of past In-Color "Wild Wasabi" in the new IB&C on July 1st!) and used the Circles Die for the Whisper White stamping piece.

Here's the inside:

Tropical giftcard 2 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

Pretty neat! In the past I've done lots of almost exact CASEing of cards I've received in swaps and from my web surfing, but lately I've been challenging myself to stamp more originally, and even though this card does have elements of the original inspiration, I feel I've changed it up enough to make it my own, what do you think?

Let's try something, shall we? Everyone who leaves a comment on this card from now until Friday May 21st  will have their name put in a drawing to receive this card, including a coordinating envelope ready for you to use! I would love to hear from more of you, I know you're out there!

Until tomorrow, have a STAMPIN' ROX DAY!
