Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks with Paper Blooms!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks with Paper Blooms!

Hey there! I created today's cards with Ornate Thanks and the free Sale-a-bration paper, Paper Blooms!

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_paper_blooms_carolpaynestamps1

I used Soft Sea Foam and Rococo Rose from Paper Blooms. I cut the Rococo Rose panel with an Ornate Borders Die. I added Paper Blooms to the envelope flap.

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_paper_blooms_carolpaynestamps2

I used Paper Snips to cut out the flower embellishment directly from the Paper Blooms. By leaving a narrow edge of Night of Navy it gives the look of an extra mat layer.  I added a single Rococo Rose Pastel Pearl for elegance.

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_paper_blooms_carolpaynestamps3
I wanted this card to be an all-occasion one so I used this Ornate Thanks phrase and then stamped the daisy from the Ornate Style stamp set. I added 1/4" wide strips of Paper Blooms to bring continuity and color to the inside.

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_paper_blooms_carolpaynestamps4

My second card is almost identical to the first with the exception of the inside sentiment. I find I need a belated birthday card, so I stamped the bottom sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays along with another from Ornate Thanks with Night of Navy ink.

Measurements:

Soft Sea Foam base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score 4 1/4" scrap to punch greeting

Paper Blooms front layer: 5 1/2" x 3 1/4"  inside strips: 1/4" x 4 3/4" scrap for bloom

to cover envelope flap: 2 1/4" x 5 3/4"

Rococo Rose strip: 1 1/4" x 5 1/2" inside: 4" x 5 1/4"

Basic White sentiment layer: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin Sending Hearts!

Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin Sending Hearts!

Hey there! Stampin' Up!'s monthly crafting subscription box, Paper Pumpkin, arrived in my mailbox this week.  The Sending Hearts January kit is absolutely adorable! I immediately made two of the eight cards included in the kit, as well as another with a few additional supplies!

The two kit cards:

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps1
Exactly as shown in the kit . . .

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps2

I did add one of the tiny Petal Pink epoxy hearts included in the kit. They come in several sizes including a few star-shaped flowers!

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped the second card according to the kit directions.

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps4

Here's a tip for stamping with photopolymer stamps that have smooth-surfaces, like the solid hearts in this image. Tap the stamp on your ink pad a few times, then stamp on scrap paper. Re-ink without cleaning the stamp to stamp on your card. I didn't do that when I stamped the heart on the left. The heart on the right is much better after re-inking after the first stamping.

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps9

I used one of the Petal Pink epoxy hearts here too!

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps5

After I made the kit cards I used the little snail stamp to make my own with a few additional supplies:

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps6

This sweet little guy coordinates with the Snailed It Bundle in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog! I heat-embossed him with white powder on Poppy Parade, then cut him out with one of the Heart Punch Pack punches. There were plenty of epoxy hearts to sprinkle around!

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps7

You can't order this kit. It's only available by subscription, which closes on the 10th of each month. However, you can subscribe now to the February Kit. I'm sure it will not disappoint. Give Paper Pumpkin a try!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream!

Hey there! Today I have a fun card to share created with the Sweet Ice Cream bundle of stamps and the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch!  I created two cards, one horizontal (also called landscape) and one vertical (portrait). I wanted to make them both into shaker cards, so I added the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to the clear envelopes I inserted with the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper.

IMG_1515 (2)

I created the ice cream cone embellishment by punching the Ice Cream Corner Designer paper with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, then adding them to the Bermuda Bay greeting strip with liquid glue under the cone and mini stampin' dimensionals under the scoop!

IMG_1516

I heat embossed the greetings with white powder, then added clear Elegant Faceted Gems for some sparkle.

IMG_1520

All of the images I used on both cards are included in the Sweet Ice Cream set.

IMG_1522

I created the portrait card in the same manner, adding the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to the clear envelope, then folding the excess of the envelope to the back of the layer and securing with tape. The sprinkles look good enough to eat!

IMG_1518 (2)

I stamped two of the Sweet Ice Cream sentiments with Versamark on the Flirty Flamingo greeting strip, then heat embossed with white powder again. I added the Heart Charm with rolled-up glue dots.

Stampin’ Up! Soar Confidently!

Stampin’ Up! Soar Confidently!

Hey there! Today I have another masculine birthday card to share. I created this one with the new Soar Confidently stamp set from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. It's a stand-alone set, which means there are no dies or punches to accompany it but I love vintage images, so I had to have it to play with!

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps1

After I stamped the bi-plane with black ink I then used a Blending Brush to softly swirl Pool Party ink for the sky.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps2
I was able to leave the area of the greeting ink-free. I added a couple of Gilded Gems  because while sparkly, they also look a bit industrial, or rivet-like.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps3
I embossed the Pool Party layers with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder to continue the look of clouds.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps4
Inside I used sentiments from Handsomely Suited, another mini catalog stamp set.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps5

Speaking of the Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration brochure, if you usually receive these mailings from me but you haven't received your copies yet, please let me know ASAP so I can notify Stampin' Up! to re-mail. Hopefully the January P.O. will be faster!

Dimensions:

Soft Suede base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 2 1/8", 4 1/4" focal image mat: 2" x 4 1/4" inside mat: 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"

Pool Party front panel: 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" inside layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
