Stampin’Up! Fiji Rest & Relaxation!

Stampin’Up! Fiji Rest & Relaxation!

Hi all, just short to let you know we are still safe & sound here in Fiji. Did a fun Navua River Rafting Trip yesterday (LOOOOOOONG bus ride there & back-three hours each way!) Then today we had a relaxing day at the beach, a catamaran sail, and a banana boat ride! We are a little burnt, but tired & happy!

Since our internet time is so limited, I've got to run, so until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! WE ARE IN FIJI!!!!!

Stampin’ Up! WE ARE IN FIJI!!!!!

Can't take much time to chat today. We arrived here in Nadi, Fiji, at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30th!!!! Now I know this is posting on Monday, April 29, so that is really weird!

I only have 30 minutes of free internet down here in the lobby, so I've got to rush, and will try to post a few pics tomorrow, but it is BEAUTIFUL here! Green, lush, tropical, beach right out our balcony window, humid, warm, but rainy today. Tomorrow we are taking a River Rafting tour (didn't realize there would be rivers in Fiji, did ya?, so really looking forward to that!

Gotta run, if you want to know what happens tomorrow today, just let me know! lol!

Until tomorrow, or whatever day tomorrow is, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Fiji Bound!

Stampin’ Up! Fiji Bound!

Today is going to be a looooong day for me! We fly out of St. Louis to Chicago at 1:20 p.m., then it's off to L.A. with about a 5 hour layover, then we fly out of L.A. at about midnight, arriving in Fiji in the wee sma's of the morning! Stampin' Up! will have a breakfast ready for us when we get there, and then I'll bet I will be ready for a big nap!

I am all packed and ready to go! My swaps are done and packed, safe in my carry-on along with my brand-spankin' New Annual Catalog! I've viewed the catalog online already, but I am saving a good long browse for the plane rides! yay!

Today I have my Fiji swap to show you. I made 26 of these, 25 to swap and 1 for Stampin' Up!

Note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

Fiji swap 1

At Leadership this past January, Stampin' Up! gave everyone in attendance this new catalog stamp set, Sketched Birthday, so I decided to create my swap with it! I chose Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper because it is CARRYING OVER into the New Catalog, so I decided to use Real Red and Marina Mist, which are two of the page colors, for my color palette. The images and paper are all punched with the Postage Stamp Punch. I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Chevron Folder, and added Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for a little bling!

Here are some close-ups of the bling:

Fiji swap 3

Stampin' Up! offered two bottles of the Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details as a demonstrator incentive recently. I've always been a sucker for an incentive carrot! It's fun to be able to use a completely FREE product, which is another fun perk of being a demonstrator!

Fiji swap 2

Well, I must close for now and finish getting ready to go! My son, Troy, will be here soon and we will be on our way to a week in Fabulous Fiji!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! ONE MORE SLEEP ‘TIL FIJI!!!!!

Stampin’ Up! ONE MORE SLEEP ‘TIL FIJI!!!!!

Good morning! Today is my day to pack my bags for Fiji!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I'm really excited?

I do have some new stuff to share while I am gone. I will be pre-setting my blog posts to show up every morning as usual. Don't think much will show up on Facebook from here, though. That problem seems to only be fixable if I create the post the same day it needs to go to Facebook, then by the end of the day it says I have an "invalid session", so then I have to manually fix it again! arrgghh!

I have found out we will have free wifi in the lobby of our hotel, so maybe I will be able to post some pictures as we go along. Or maybe not. You never know just what you are going to do on a vacation, do you? That's part of the fun, the opportunity to completely relax and.   do.  absolutley.  nothing.

I have a couple of remaining swaps from this month to share, but guess what? I found a whole bag from last month that I haven't shared either, so you will probably get to see a few of them next week too! They are really great creations, some with retiring sets and accessories, so keep coming to see me, even though I won't actually be here! lol!

Note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

Cindy Ewertz created this card using one of the Best of Love stamps in Calypso Coral, and then she used the Lace Tape Masking technique like I used HERE, only she sponged Whisper White Craft ink over the Lace Tape. The "love" greeting is another from the Best of Love set. I really like all the fun little embellishments she added with a Silver Glimmer paper heart, a Small Heart-punched heart, punched Bitty Butterflies with pearls, and retiring Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.

Can you guess what else is retiring on this card?

The Whisper White Scalloped Square mat behind the focal image is from the retiring Scallop Square Duo Die!

This fun Watercolor Wash card by Karen Kurz with the Secret Garden stamp set is a technique I've been dying to try! This will be one of the Techniques for my May Punch/Technique Class.

Watercolor Wash Karen Kurz

Can you guess what element of this card will be retiring on May 31? It's the Print Poetry Designer Paper I used behind I like this card so much I may have to CASE it for my class!

When I post my card I will give you the low-down on how its' done, ok?

Well, that had better be all for now. I've got lots to get done today!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Emboss Resist Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Emboss Resist Technique!

Good morning! Hope your day is going well! Today I'm working on my swap for the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation in Fiji! I will show it to you  before I leave, but today I have some more fun swaps to show you! This month's theme was "techniques", and everyone really outdid themselves. Today I am showing you a collection of samples using the "Emboss Resist" technique, so here we go!

Note: all products used are  ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated  otherwise.

Rhonda Bassler combined En Francais background with a white embossed and stamped-and-punched butterflies from Papillon Potpourri. She added a little sponged Calypso Coral to make the embossed butterflies "pop"!

I always love black & white with a splash of color, it's just so elegant! Tamie Ackerson white embossed the Sweet Floral background stamp on a Whisper White Top Note, then sponged Pool Party ink over the image for a gentle and soft look!

Emobss Resist Tamie Ackerson p

An finally for today, Mary Waring used lots of retiring colors (Pretty in Pink and Lucky Limeade) and product on her swap. She Clear-embossed one of the flowers from the Secret Garden stamp set on a Whisper White Top Note, then sponged Pretty In Pink ink over them. She used more stamps from the same set, clear-embossing again on white before cutting out with the Secret Garden Framelits and coloring with Rose Red ink. She finished off her card with Rose Red 1/2" Seam Binding (retiring) and a stamp from the Spring Special Bundle, A Round Array!

That's all for now! It's back to swap making for me! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Retiring products are only available while supplies last! You can order yours today HERE!
