Hey there! Today’s card was inspired by a swap I posted last Sunday created by Karen Davis. My card is very similar, but I added touches to it that is called “stepping-it-up” to feature a few more products at a workshop I am doing later this week.
I used the Honeybee Home stamp set, which comes in a bundle with Honeybee Blooms dies (even though I didn’t use any of the dies on this card). I used Bumblebee card stock and Bumblebee ink to stamp the background layer. I sandwiched a layer of Basic Black between the stamped Bumblebee layer and the Bumblebee card base.
I stamped the bee with Tuxedo Black ink, then colored him with Bumblebee Stampin’ Write Marker. I stamped him on the 3″ x 3″ white focal image layer, then cut with one of the Beautiful Shapes dies. I embossed a 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ square of So Saffron with the Hive 3D embossing folder to put behind the opening. I added a bow tied with Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon for a pop of color. It’s hard to see in the picture but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the bee’s wings.
I added a gold Bumblebee Trinket with a glue dot.
Inside I stamped the background card base with the same Bumblebee ink, then added another Honeybee Home sentiment (the one of the front is from the set too), flowers, and bee.
