Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin Sending Hearts!

Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin Sending Hearts!

Hey there! Stampin' Up!'s monthly crafting subscription box, Paper Pumpkin, arrived in my mailbox this week.  The Sending Hearts January kit is absolutely adorable! I immediately made two of the eight cards included in the kit, as well as another with a few additional supplies!

The two kit cards:

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps1
Exactly as shown in the kit . . .

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps2

I did add one of the tiny Petal Pink epoxy hearts included in the kit. They come in several sizes including a few star-shaped flowers!

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped the second card according to the kit directions.

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps4

Here's a tip for stamping with photopolymer stamps that have smooth-surfaces, like the solid hearts in this image. Tap the stamp on your ink pad a few times, then stamp on scrap paper. Re-ink without cleaning the stamp to stamp on your card. I didn't do that when I stamped the heart on the left. The heart on the right is much better after re-inking after the first stamping.

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps9

I used one of the Petal Pink epoxy hearts here too!

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps5

After I made the kit cards I used the little snail stamp to make my own with a few additional supplies:

Stampin_up_paper_pumpkin_sending_hearts_carolpaynestamps6

This sweet little guy coordinates with the Snailed It Bundle in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog! I heat-embossed him with white powder on Poppy Parade, then cut him out with one of the Heart Punch Pack punches. There were plenty of epoxy hearts to sprinkle around!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream!

Hey there! Today I have a fun card to share created with the Sweet Ice Cream bundle of stamps and the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch!  I created two cards, one horizontal (also called landscape) and one vertical (portrait). I wanted to make them both into shaker cards, so I added the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to the clear envelopes I inserted with the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper.

IMG_1515 (2)

I created the ice cream cone embellishment by punching the Ice Cream Corner Designer paper with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, then adding them to the Bermuda Bay greeting strip with liquid glue under the cone and mini stampin' dimensionals under the scoop!

IMG_1516

I heat embossed the greetings with white powder, then added clear Elegant Faceted Gems for some sparkle.

IMG_1520

All of the images I used on both cards are included in the Sweet Ice Cream set.

IMG_1522

I created the portrait card in the same manner, adding the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to the clear envelope, then folding the excess of the envelope to the back of the layer and securing with tape. The sprinkles look good enough to eat!

IMG_1518 (2)

I stamped two of the Sweet Ice Cream sentiments with Versamark on the Flirty Flamingo greeting strip, then heat embossed with white powder again. I added the Heart Charm with rolled-up glue dots.

Stampin’ Up! Soar Confidently!

Stampin’ Up! Soar Confidently!

Hey there! Today I have another masculine birthday card to share. I created this one with the new Soar Confidently stamp set from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. It's a stand-alone set, which means there are no dies or punches to accompany it but I love vintage images, so I had to have it to play with!

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps1

After I stamped the bi-plane with black ink I then used a Blending Brush to softly swirl Pool Party ink for the sky.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps2
I was able to leave the area of the greeting ink-free. I added a couple of Gilded Gems  because while sparkly, they also look a bit industrial, or rivet-like.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps3
I embossed the Pool Party layers with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder to continue the look of clouds.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps4
Inside I used sentiments from Handsomely Suited, another mini catalog stamp set.

Stampin_up_soar_confidently_carolpaynestamps5

Speaking of the Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration brochure, if you usually receive these mailings from me but you haven't received your copies yet, please let me know ASAP so I can notify Stampin' Up! to re-mail. Hopefully the January P.O. will be faster!

Dimensions:

Soft Suede base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 2 1/8", 4 1/4" focal image mat: 2" x 4 1/4" inside mat: 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"

Pool Party front panel: 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" inside layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

Stampin’ Up! Ride the Range!

Stampin’ Up! Ride the Range!

Hey there! Today's card was created for my grandson, Lando, who turned 6 this month. We went to his party yesterday, so now I can post his card! I used Ride the Range from the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalog and a double z-fold.

Lando was pretty happy to receive his card (and the present it was attached to!) lol!

Stampin_up_ride_the_range_carolpaynestamps1

All of the images used on this card are from the Ride the Range stamp set, including the adorable horseshoe I stamped in the background. I hand-cut the top and sides of the "LIFE IS A JOURNEY. . ." greeting, as well as the Early Espresso mat layer behind it.

Stampin_up_ride_the_range_carolpaynestamps2

I used the dies in the Open Range set to cut the cowboy, the cows, the windmill, and the fence I glued to the z-fold arm. I used the barbed wire image behind the windmill and the fence.

Stampin_up_ride_the_range_carolpaynestamps3

The finishing sentiment and hay bales are all from the set!

Dimensions for z-fold card:

Soft Suede section layers: 2 1/2" x 4" – need two

Soft Suede inside layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

Very Vanilla inside layer: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Very Vanilla for cowboy, cows, and greeting label: scraps

Early Espresso for greeting label mat: scrap

Tip: for added strength, adhere the ends of the z-fold arm to card with liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day January 17th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day January 17th!

Hey there! We are back around to Sunday, so of course I'm sharing some swaps! We had Lando's 6th birthday party yesterday afternoon, so I made sure I had this blog post finished before I went!

Today's swaps were all created with stamps from the 2021 Sale-a-bration brochure. Sale-a-bration is only two months long this time, so you will need to place your orders soon to get the goodies you want! The really great thing about Sale-a-bration this year is that there will be a second round of it in July/August with different stamps and accessories!

This first card was created by Jan Rodrian with the Darling Donkeys SAB stamp set and True Love Designer Series Paper from the Jan/June Mini Catalog. She combined Melon Mambo with Basic Black and Basic White, coloring the donkey and select blooms from the black-and-white paper with Stampin' Blends. She used last year's SAB Small Bloom Punch, which is now available to order from the Annual Catalog, with a Matte Black Dot found in the Love You Always Suite on page 11 of the Jan/June Mini.

Stampin_up_darling_donkeys_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Linda Pagel also used Darling Donkeys for her swap, combining it with Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (another Sale-a-bration $50 spend choice).

Stampin_up_darling_donkeys_carolpaynestamps2

Kelly Acheson combined the Sweet Strawberry bundle of stamps and punch from the mini catalog with the Berry Blessings/Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper bundle ($100 spend to choose) from the SAB brochure for her creation:

Stampin_up_sweet_strawberry_carolpaynestamps1

Rhonda Bassler also used the Sweet Strawberry Bundle with Berry Blessings/Berry Delightful DSP:

Finally, Kathy Johnson also chose the Sweet Strawberry bundle, using all of the Strawberry Builder Punch elements on her card along with the SAB Berry Delightful Designer Series paper. She used the Double Oval Punch found on page 65 of the January/June Mini Catalog to highlight the greeting.
