Designer Cuts for Easy, Elegant Cards!

Designer Cuts for Easy, Elegant Cards!

Stampin' Up! just keeps making it easier to make elegant cards! In the Occasions 2012 Mini there is a package of cards called "Designer Cuts", and they fit this description perfectly:

Designer cuts

These cards come 8 to a package, four each of the two different designs, with coordinating Blushing Bride envelopes included! At $9.95 a package, they are actually quite economically elegant!

Now, I have embellished these Designer Cuts quite a bit, with Blushing Bride Twitterpated Designer Paper, Blushing Bride 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon, Jumbo Pearls, Blushing Bride Cardstock to highlight the laser-cut designs, some Fashionable Hearts embossed hearts, and a bit of stamping from "P.S. I Love You" and "Grateful Greetings", but these are also quite pretty all by themselves. Check out page 9 of the Occasions Mini to see what I mean!

If you don't have an Occasions Mini (or a Sale-a-bration brochure, for that matter), email me with your address and I will pop those in the mail to you! You can also view them from the icons here on my blog or go to my Stampin' Up! website:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Sorry, no tutorial for these. They are pretty simple and the Designer Cuts make it easy to adapt for any occasion: wedding, bridal shower, Valentine's Day, & Mother's Day!

If you have any questions, you can always email me!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Valentine Heart Framelit Mobile & Tutorial

Valentine Heart Framelit Mobile & Tutorial

While at the San Antonio Regional held immediately after Leadership, I had the opportunity to see some very talented demos "strut their stuff" at the Demonstration Booths. Stampin' Up! asks Demonstrators who will be attending their events to apply to show a technique or new idea using Stampin' Up! products. I hope to share several of those ideas with you soon, but for now I need to show you the one I have put into action, a Valentine Mobile made with the new Heart Framelits, Silver and Red Glimmer Paper, and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine!

Isn't it a beauty? Unfortunately, even though I took notes and pictures of this project, I failed to record the Demonstrators name who presented this project! My bad! If you DO know the name of the pretty lady who shared this, PLEASE let me know!

ETA: The name of the talented demonstrator who presented this project was Judy Garza! You can view her blog here:

Valentines for my Grandchildren!

Valentines for my Grandchildren!

Here they are! The Valentines for my Grandchildren to exchange with their classmates!

Grandkids valentines

The owl valentine on the left is for Ava and was inspired by Heather Summers. I took the owl a step further with the penquin valentine on the right for Maddie Kate, then jumped in with the "I Dig You" valentine in the center for Cohen. All of the Valentines are attached to Rice Krispy Treats with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here are the backsides:

Valentine Quick Card Box & Cards!

Valentine Quick Card Box & Cards!

Well, I didn't get back yesterday afternoon to show you the Valentine Box & Cards as I was inspired to work on school-exchange Valentines for my grandchildren's approval (which I will share another day), but here's the box & cards now:

Valentine quick box 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I used the same box design as the one I posted yesterday for the Mixed Bunch Box & Cards, but used Cherry Cobbler Textured Cardstock, Twitterpated Designer Paper, and the "P.S. I Love You" stamp set.

I cut out my valentine hearts with the Heart Framelits, using the next to largest heart for the Whisper White layer. Even though there are 6 different sizes of hearts in this set, wouldn't you know the size I needed for the Cherry Cobbler matting layer didn't exist, UNTIL I realized I could trace around the outside of the framelit and then cut out the slightly larger heart mat with my Paper Snips! Voila! This discovery (although I'm sure I'm not the first), now expands the Heart Framelits from 6 sizes to 11! WOW! A great value for $26.95 price for the framelits!

I also added some cool detailing to each heart, one of the "Trinket Hearts", available in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I attached each one to the heart using my Paper Piercing Tool and a Silver Mini Brad!

Valentine quick box 4

Each heart has a phrase and image from "P.S. I Love You" and Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon. This final sample also has Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details added to the stamped hearts! Even though Cherry Cobbler is not Riding Hood Red, it coordinates beautifully together! That's Stampin' Up! for you, always providing the best in coordination!

See you tomorrow for the reveal of the samples in the running for my grandchildren's Valentines! Ever since Maddie Kate, now 10 1/2 and in 5th grade, was in Kindergarten I have made Valentines with her for her classmates at school. Last year Ava joined us in the valentine-making tradition, and this year Cohen has Valentine's to make for Tuesday school! Oh my, boy-valentines, which as you would imagine are VERY different from girl-valentines!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Valentine swap cards!

Valentine swap cards!

Since the theme of this month's swap could be anything as long as we used the Simply Scoring Tool, I received these three lovely Valentines. Even though it's not Christmas yet, before we know it the New Year will be here and it will be time to need a card to send to our loved ones!

This first one is by Kathy Morgan, and features the "Greeting Card Kids" set and Silver Glimmer Paper! I love how Kathy used the Simply Scored to accent the white space!

Rene Watson used the "Stripes" Textured Impressions Folder to co-ordinate with the vertical scored lines on this simple punched Valentine with the "Full Heart" punch in Red Glimmer paper and phrase from the "With All My Heart" stamp set! Great job!

Rhonda Bassler used the soon-to-be-going-away-maybe-forever Holiday Mini set, "You Are Loved"! She used the Simply Scored to do the "faux tile" technique on the "happy valentines" section, and then scored vertical lines on the punched Extra Large Oval behind the "love" punched large oval!

Three beautiful cards for the last Sunday of November! Don't forget, the Online Extravaganza Sale is still going on through this Wednesday, November 30th! If you place an online order through my Stampin' Up! website, don't forget to check out the Clearance Rack for some cool values there too!

Until Monday, have a "Stampingrox"! day!

Festive & Fun Valentine!

Festive & Fun Valentine!

As I promised you yesterday, here's a valentine using another stamp from Festive & Fun!

Festive & fun valentine 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

and the inside:

Festive and fun valentine 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Supplies used

Stamps: Festive & Fun (#123742-wood, #123744-clear), Grateful Greetings (#116511 -wood only)

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper (the Melon Mambo intricate doily behing the "be my Valentine" greeting is cut from one of the two doily sheets included in the Flirtatious Paper Pack), Silver Glimmer Paper

Ink: Staz-on Black, Melon Mambo & Wisteria Wonder Stampin' Write Markers

Accessories: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 3/8"  Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, Heart to Heart Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL adhesive

As I did with the card yesterday, I stamped the "be my Valentine" image in Staz-on Black so I can use my markers in any color, regardless of how light the ink may be, without worrying that the outline of the image will smear or bleed.

That's all for today. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with another project to show you!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stamingrox" day!
