Stampin’ Up! Love You Lots!

Stampin’ Up! Love You Lots!

Hey there! I've been working on thank-you cards, for online orders and workshop orders. I love the Love You Lots Host set, so I used the elephant/mouse with Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, and Basic Black:

Stampin_up_love_you_lots_carolpaynestamps6

I just love this slightly wooly-looking elephant, making friends with the little mouse!

Stampin_up_love_you_lots_carolpaynestamps2

The texture of the Watermelon Wonder layer embossed with the Boho Chic folder contrasts nicely with the Basic Black layer stamped and sponged with Whisper White Craft ink. The dancing ladybugs on the envelope flap are also from Love You Lots.

Stampin_up_love_you_lots_carolpaynestamps1

I added a single silver Metallic Enamel Shape for some bling. Metallic Enamel Shapes come in hearts, stars, and circles.

Stampin_up_love_you_lots_carolpaynestamps7

I'm leaving the inside blank so I can write on a Post-it Note so the card can be re-used by the recipient!

Stampin_up_love_you_lots_carolpaynestamps4

Gratitude is an attitude I'm trying to cultivate  more in my own life every day.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! I had to take a little break from my laptop yesterday. A relaxing day of church, family, and a little bit of stamping sprinkled in!

So today I'm sharing the swaps I would have shared with you yesterday.

First the two swaps I used as my inspiration for my Melon Mambo/Bermuda Bay Avant Garden card I showed you HERE.

Stampin_up_avant_garden_carolpaynestamps6

First, Judy Garza used the Fluttering folder for her Very Vanilla background. She also used a strip of Falling in Love Designer Paper to decide on her colors of Blushing Bride & Sweet Sugarplum.

Stampin_up_avant_garden_carolpaynestamps7

The other swap I used for inspiration came with no name attached, which is a shame, as it's a lovely card too. This Avant Garden card used Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, and Pink Pirouette. The Watercolor Wash single stamp may have been used to create the Bermuda Bay background on the Whisper White layer, or this look may have been achieved simply by dragging the inkpad across the paper.  I like the use of the three tiny pearls to the center of the flower.

Stampin_up_avant_garden_carolpaynestamps8

Alas, this card created with the Perfect Mix set also has no creator name! They paired Basic Black, Real Red, and Whisper White with Pop of Pink Specialty paper  and Stitched Shapes Framelits. They colored the mixer with a Real Red Watercolor Pencil. I just ordered this set to make some cards for my oldest granddaughter who love to bake!

Stampin_up_perfect_mix_carolpaynestamps1

That's all for now. I'm hoping to get a chance to do more than just a "sprinkle" of stamping this afternoon after I get home from babysitting, but you never know!

Stampin’ Up! So Very Much!

Stampin’ Up! So Very Much!

Hey there! A couple of weeks ago a Facebook friend posted this beautiful bouquet:

Stampin_up_stamping_inspiration_carolpaynestamps

I was inspired to use Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White with Definitely Dahlia and So Very Much Sale-a-bration to create this for my January ordering thank-you:

Stampin_up_so_very_much_carolpaynestamps1

I inked the dahlia stamp first with Versamark ink, then used a sponge dauber to add Rich Razzleberry ink to just the center before stamping and embossing on Whisper White:

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_carolpaynestamps1

I really like the look of the clear heat embossing of the dahlia. It seals the color but you can still see the petals!

Stampin_up_so_very_much_carolpaynestamps4

For this one I used the same inking/heat embossing technique, but then sponged extra Rich Razzleberry ink. I don't like this look nearly as well, do you?

Stampin_up_so_very_much_carolpaynestamps7

Inside I applied the same technique using a Petite Petals image:

Stampin_up_so_very_much_carolpaynestamps6

On the less-liked card I stamped the same image once with full-strength ink, then moved the stamp just a bit to stamp again without re-inking:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday!

Hey there! The Christmas Chaos Countdown has really gotten the better of me this year. Seems like I'm playing catch-up with everything, including blogging! eeek!

Today I want to share with you some swaps I received last month with a "techniques" theme.

First,  Renee Watson used the "Smackin' Acetate" technique to get the splotchy background for her balloons. The greeting is from Confetti Celebration. She added sparkle to the black balloons with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Stampin_up_confetti_celebration_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Lorraine Duran used Feather Together with Dapper Denim cardstock and ink, stamping on Watercolor Paper for more texture. She used retiring Kraft Rope Trim, which is discounted 40% off while supplies last!

Stampin_up_feather_together_carolpaynestamps1

Cindy Ewertz gold heat-embossed directly onto Moroccan Designer Series Paper with images from the retiring It's a Celebration set:

Stampin_up_its_a_celebration_carolpaynestamps2

If you didn't get Christmas cards made this year, it's not too late to do some for the New Year!

Stampin_up_its_a_celebration_carolpaynestamp3

Finally, Rhonda Bassler used the Picture Perfect set for her easel card:

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_carolpaynestamps1

She used the emboss-resist technique, embossing the starfish with clear powder on Very Vanilla before sponging with Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky ink.

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_carolpaynestamps2

I have more to share, but I'll save them for another day.
