I have combined inspiration from Angie Juda for the "witchy owl" and Michelle Zindorf for the spooky background. I really love this card, and my Punch/Technique Class attendees have too!

This beautiful box is created with the "Orchard Harvest" Designer Series Paper pack, as well as the "Perfectly Preserved" Bundle on pages 28 & 29 of the 2012 Holiday Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Preserved!

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Preserved!

The Holiday Catalog is chock-full of delightful suites of products. Christmas is the first and formost (which you know I will be featuring soon!), but it also has gorgeous fun new stuff for fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving!

The "Orchard Harvest" Suite is one such example. This card features the "Orchard Harvest" Designer Paper, along with the "Perfectly Preserved" stamp set and matchng "Cannery" Framelit Dies. This swap, which is nameless, also uses the "Little Labels" Punch Pack and "Lovely Little Labels" stamp set. The "thank you" is from "Perfectly Preserved", cut out with the small oval Punch and backed with an Itty Bitty Banner. The Scallop Oval doily under the jar is embossed with the new "Lacy Brocade" folder. The Island Indigo mat layer was embossed with the "Woodgrain" Embossing Folder.

This  card by Rene Watson uses some of the same images from "Perfectly Preserved", but with the pear image instead of the appple! Using More Mustard cardstock gives this card a whole different flavor, doesn't it? Rene used the "Window Frames Collection" framelit dies to cut the Old Olive mat for the canning jar, with some simple Whisper White Baker's Twine to "tie" the top of the jar!

Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo are the featured colors of this card by Karen Kurz! Karen and Rene are  both demonstrators in the monthly swap I participate in. Karen used "Orchard Harvest" Designer Paper, along with the "Window Frames Collection" Framelits to cut the Cherry Cobbler mat. She complemented the window frame shape with paper piercing using the "Festive" Paper-Piercing Pack and our new, ergonomically designed Paper Piercing Tool. A bit of Early Espresso Baker's Twine finishes off the top of this canning jar!

Here's another card using products from the Orchard Harvest Suite, this time by Ann Lohmeyer. Ann used the "Woodgrain" Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss the Soft Suede layer after applying the leaves cut with the "Autumn Accents" Bigz Die. The result is a look of the leaves being embedded in the woodgrain! "THANKS A BUNCH"  is from the "Friendship Preserves" stamp set and has been cut out once again with the "Window Frames Frames Collection" Framelit Die. She applied clear "Dazzling Details" last thing to the "THANKS" letters, and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Last but not least, Ruth Bingle, another monthly swapper, created this beauty with the "Autumn Accents" Bigz Die, a strip of "Howlstooth & Scaringbone" Designer Paper, a "Brushed Bronze" Designer Button, Linen Thread, and Basic Black/Basic Gray 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon. The sentiment is from the "Day of Gratitude" stamp set found in the Annnual Catalog on page 27. A beautiful card!

Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog!

As this blog is posting I will be arriving at the hospital with Kimberly and Tony to start the process of helping Liam be born! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Here's just a couple of cute samples using Holiday Catalog products:

The card on the left uses the "Googly Ghouls" stamp set and "Howlstooth & Scaringbone" Designer Paper. It is a swap I received at convention, but the creator did not put their name on the back. The card on the right is a swap I created for convention using the new "Ornament Keepsakes" stamp set and coordinating "Holiday Ornaments" Framelits with the Big Shot. I heat-embossed the ornaments in black on Brushed Silver cardstock and Basic Black cardstock, and silver on Black cardstock.  I used the new "Lacy Brocade" embossing folder on the Cherry Cobbler background.

If baby Liam comes today, I will do my best to let you know!

Otherwise, until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! Day!

Holiday Mini Swap Card!

Holiday Mini Swap Card!

As you probably already know, I participate in a monthly swap with 20 other super demonstrators. Each month has a theme and this month was the Holiday Mini!

For the next few days I will be showing you one of this month's swaps. I'll start out with mine, done with the fun new Holiday Mini Hostess Set, "Warmest of Wishes"! The really cool thing about this set is that I didn't have to wait until September to get it, Stampin' Up! GAVE IT everyone who came to Convention this year!

Warmest of wishes 1

I know, pretty cute, huh! I LOVE t when they give us stamps that coordinate with a punch, in this case the OWL Builder Punch! The "candy candy candy candy" is from "Spooky Bingo Bits", a cute new set on page 25 of the main catalog. I was able to get it FREE from my participation as a demonstrator during Sale-a-bration earlier this year! "Warmest of Wishes" can be yours just by hosting a $150 or more workshop in your home, church, or community building. You can purchase it for only $10 of your Hostess Dollars for the Clear-mount or $13 for Wood-mount.

The 'bling" on the Textured Impression Spider Web is a NEW product from pg 41 of the Holiday Mini, Dazzling Details! Basically it's glitter glue with an ultra-fine tip perfect for adding just a little bit of bling right where you want it!

See you tomorrow, so until then, have a "stampingrox!" day!

Getting Ready for Halloween!

Getting Ready for Halloween!

I have several stamping classes scheduled at my house this month, so I decided to dress up some pumpkins for Halloween with some super-neat (I can't call spiders cute, I'm sorry!) Decor' Elements, "Spooky Things" in Black, #120909 $14.95 from the Holiday Mini (pg 8) These also come in Basic Gray if you want a little less dramatic look!

001

©Stampin'Up!™1999-2010

They were very easy to apply to the pumpkins, which I purchased separately at several different discount stores on several different occasions (I waited for the largest pumpkin to go on sale 50% off!) My candles I purchased on clearance a couple of years ago (yes, I'm cheap, but being a farmer's wife with 6 kiddos all those years made me that way! smile!) I was  bit worried about getting everything smooth with the ridges on the pumpkins, which is why there are no Decor Elements on the middle one, which has the deepest ridges. I was a little creeped out while putting the spiders on the big pumpkin, but I persevered! I happen to HATE spiders, snakes, any of those creepy-crawly things and always yell for my DH on one of my sons to come and kill them for me!

However, these Decor' Elements are just the right solution for someone like me who wants a little Halloween decor' but can't handle any more realistic than this! If you haven't seen our 2010 Definitely Decorative 2011 Catalog, go to my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Click on the "Shop Now" button on the upper right side of the page, then click on "Home Decor". You will then have choices of "Vinyl Art", "Stencils", "Decor Accents", "Charms & Chains", "Raw Materials", and "Textiles". Lots of great products to explore to decorate your home and gifts to suit your style!

Here's another piece from the "Spooky Things" set I put on my front door:

002

©Stampin'Up!™1999-2010

After Halloween I will just remove this from my door and throw away as they are not re-usable, but at $14.95 for the set of 10, they are VERY economical. I already have some adorable Real Red Decor Elements, "Candy Cane Christmas" #120912 , $14.95 from the same Holiday Mini (pg 36). They also come in Old Olive if that better suits your taste, or you can buy both and mix them together for a true Christmas color scheme!

Until tomorrow, have a GREAT Stampingrox! day!

The truest measure . . .

This
stamp from "Grateful Greetings" says it all for the Thanksgiving
holiday. We will be spending Thanksgiving with Mark's brother's family in TN
and AL. They just celebrated the birth of their first grandchild (a little
boy!) and we can't wait to get down there to see him! Per our tradition for the
past few years, we are also taking Mark's mother with us. She is 81, but still
as spry as a 70 year-old, in my estimation! It should be a good trip.

I
used the Fancy Favor XL Die with the Big Shot, along with More Mustard 12×12
cardstock, Autumn Meadows DSP, Dusty Durango, Old Olive, Very Vanilla,
cardstock, Finial Press Textured Impressions folder, Swirls & Scribbles
Sizzlet, Perfect Setting XL Die, Bright Blessings Jumbo Wheel with More Mustard
jumbo cartridge, Grateful Greetings stamp set, Stampin' Sponges, and Champange
Mist Shimmer Paint. I will be taking about 20 of these with me to assemble on
the car ride, then will fill with M&M's and Reese's Cups.

We'll
be back on Friday but don't forget the great sale SU! has going on this week.
