Stampin’Up! Baby Shower!

Stampin’Up! Baby Shower!

I finally was able to get the pictures from Kimberly's baby shower sorted and prepped! Jessica & I had so much fun creating the decorations, using all Stampin' Up! Kimberly's colors are Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black,  Basic Gray, and Whisper White so those are the colors we went with for the invitations, decorations, and thank-you notes!

I've shown you the invitation before, but I will include it here since it is part of our "Liam's suite"!

Jessica found inspiration on Pinterest, then got busy with cardstock, Patterns Stack Designer Paper, Paper Snips, and the Big Shot to create these three banners:

Banner liam

We used onesies, ties, stars, paper hats, and "Van Dyke" mustaches for our theme. (In case you are wondering, that's a Van Dyke in between the "I" and the "A" in Liam) Kimberly's husband, Tony ha had a Van Dyke ever since we've known him, so it's a family joke that Liam will probably be born with one! I made my own pattern for the onesies by tracing a newborn-sized actual onesie, and the "oh BOY!" and "little MAN" are retiring Big Shot letters. "L I A M" are printed from the computer in Black ink on Basic Gray cardstock. This helped take care of the lined-look you get sometimes when you print on just regular copy paper.

Banner little man
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Jessica wanted the "LITTLE MAN" banner letters to be really big, so she hand-cut them herself! We hung this over the dessert bar with regular clothepins and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding!

Scattered all over the tables, which we covered with my Stampin' Up! Basic Black tablecloths I use for Vendor and Craft Fairs, were these little cuties created with circle punches and the retiring Stars #2 Big Shot Die. I even cranked out custom confetti to scatter over the tables. It was really simple to just poke a hole in the Hershey's nugget with my Paper Piercing Tool to stick the toothpick stars into!

Jessica created these little paper hats with "First Edition" Designer Paper. She has one almost exactly like it for her newborn sessions made of fabric:

The "OH BOY!" banner hung over the Onesie Decorating table. Again, all Stampin' Up! cardstock and colors, with hand-cut letters.

The Onesie table was a BIG HIT! We provided a stack of newborn to size 6 months onesies and fabric markers, (be sure to put a piece of cardboard inside while you create so the markers don't bleed through to the backside!) and guests were able to create these for Liam:

Maddie

Maddie Kate is Liam's oldest cousin! Liam will be Maddie Kate's first cousin ever!

Nerts
Alisa (aka "Aunt Sweed") made this adorable "Nerts Prodigy" onesie. On the back it says "Grandfathered In". They have all been playing Nerts for years and have even created a "Nerts for Life" group where they keep running scores. You have to play alot of Nerts to be a lifer!

Payne
Kimberly's best friend Emily surprised her by coming all the way from North Carolina! Emily's onesie says, "Why is everyone around me such a PAYNE???" This one will be perfect when we get together with all of my husband's family at Christmas!

Cousin Ava working hard on hers:

One of Kimberly's favorite gifts were these custom-made burp cloths with the "liam" knight and dragon! Liam's daddy is painting Liam's entire room like the inside of a castle, complete with sleeping dragons, knights, and even a prince and princess with Kimberly and Tony's faces!

Knights and dragons

Don, connie, me
A special treat for me: my older brother and sister came from 2 1/2 hours away for the shower! My brother is 18 years older and my sister is 12 years older, so even though I am a grammie almost 5 times, I'm still the "baby sister"!

Here's my precious girls, (and Liam!):

One last Stampin' Up! creation, the thank-you's we made using the "Baby Bundle" stamp set and "Baby Tees" Jumbo Wheel:

That's all for today! I'm so glad I am able to share our happy day with you!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Heard From the Heart!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Heard From the Heart!

A favorite of mine since it appeared in the catalog a few years ago, "Heard From the Heart" is now retiring! These two samples pair phrases from that set with variations of the Paper Doily Die!

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Favor Box Not Retiring!

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Favor Box Not Retiring!

Here's a cute idea from the Spring Into Stamping Event, a Fancy Favor Box that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder! The Summer Smooches Fabric Brad in the center is out of stock, but the partial Paper Doily Die in the center is not and will be carried over from the Occasions Mini! YAY!

This would make a great wedding or shower favor, wouldn't it?

Next up is an actually quite simple card using the Lattice Big Shot Die and the scallop flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack!

Lattice
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I love how they clipped into the scallops of each flower just a little to give them more dimension! Sadly, the "Birthday Wishes" greeting is from "Sincere Salutations", a set that will be retiring on May 31st!

Lastly, here is a pretty little wedding/shower/engagement card using "Thoughts and Prayers" a set usually reserved for sympathy cards, (just shows the versatility of Stampin' Up!'s stamps!) along with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Folder and a phrase from "A Word for You".

Congratulations

Stampin’ Up! Summer Smooches Petite Purses!

Stampin’ Up! Summer Smooches Petite Purses!

Today was a day I set completely aside to just play with Summer Smooches and the Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheets in preparation for my presentation on Saturday, and hooo-boy, did I have fun! Lookie:

Summer smooches petite purses
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Aren't these little gals just the cutest things? Of course, since they are made with the Petite Purse Die and the Big Shot, they won't hold much, just important things like 3-4 Hershey's nuggets, but who cares when it's chocolate????

I cut my cardstock the regular size, then attached a piece of the Big Shot Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheet. After removing the second protective layer to completely expose the adhesive on the cardstock I added a final layer of Summer Smooches Fabric to the cardstock before running it all through the Big Shot. Voila! A Summer Smooches Fabric Purse to match the purse I made a few days ago, just pint-sized! I LOVE them!

I used the Flower Fusion Sizzlet Die to cut the flowers. These were a little bit more challenging as the cutting surface of a Sizzlet is so shallow, but I just put an extra shim under my die, cranked it through, then used my Paper Snips to cut the threads that didn't cut completely through. Not too bad!

After assembling with Sticky Strip, I finished them off with Real Red Flower Brads from the Brights collection, and the Whisper White brads from the 5/16" Neutrals Jumbo Brads. Absolutely adorable!

Well, I'd better toddle off to bed soon, we have a 3 1/2 hour drive to Rolla, MO, tomorrow for Logan's college visit!

Stampin’ Up! New Technique Embossed Kissing!

I found a new technique this morning, (at least it's new to me!) and couldn't wait to try it! It's called "Embossed Kissing", uses the Ornate Blossom single stamp and is easy and fun!
