Stampin’ Up! Just Add Color!

Hey there! I finally had a chance to play a bit this week, and play I did! I've been wanting to use my Stampin' Blends more, so I tried them out on a piece of Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this beauty:

This paper is completely black and white with only one side printed, so you don't have to choose which side to use. The open designs are printed on heavyweight paper so you can watercolor, brayer, marker, sponge, brayer, or do what I did, color with the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers!

The designs include sealife, town buildings, feathers, foliage, teapots & teacups, and the garden watering cans and flowers I chose for my card today. I used Light & Dark Old Olive, Light & Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light & Dark Smoky Slate, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Bermuda Bay, and Light Pink Pirouette to color all f the flowers, leaves, butterflies, and watering cans. I filled in the remaining space with a Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend. Using the blends made me feel like a real artist!

I used Bermuda Bay 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon, embossed the Basic Gray panel with the Simple Stripes folder, then added a Petal Palette greeting cut with a Petals & More Thinlets die.

I used my fave fold, the "fun flex fold", adding another Petal Palette sentiment and Pool Party dots to the inside.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day Butterfly!

Hey there! It's a beautiful day! Today we are going to Lando's 3rd birthday party! For a little less than a month, I have grandchildren ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! I hope we can get a picture of them all together soon before Darcy turns 3 on February 9th!

While I was in a "wisteria wonder mood" after creating the Lots of Lavender card for yesterday's post I used the same color palette to create this card with the Beautiful Day set!

Beautiful Day caught my eye immediately because it is featured on the cover of the Occasions catalog. I love the butterfly card!

I used the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the butterfly background.

I rubbed the folder with the Wisteria Wonder ink pad before I embossed the card stock to highlight the butterflies.

I heat embossed the Beautiful Day butterfly on vellum with white powder then cut it out with my Paper Snips.

I flipped the butterfly over and colored the backside of the heat embossed image with Pool Party and Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers. Stampin' Blends dry much faster on vellum than a Stampin' Write Marker would.

The greeting is from Beautiful Day, stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink on a strip of Whisper White. After cutting banner points on one end with Paper Snips, I pressed the edges of the banner into my Wisteria Wonder ink pad to add a little more color.

The dimensions of this card are 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8". It's an easy fun fold that really takes no more card stock than a standard A2 size card. I added a Fluttering-embossed Wisteria Wonder layer to the inside, then added a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" white layer stamped with more Beautiful Day images.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day Butterfly!

While I was in a "wisteria wonder mood" after creating the Lots of Lavender card for yesterday's post I used the same color palette to create this card with the Beautiful Day set!

I used the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the butterfly background.

Hey there! I never got around to blogging yesterday because I came down with a touch of the flu on Monday night and just was feeling kind of crummy. I even had to cancel the guy scheduled to clean my carpets, which was even more of a bummer!

Yesterday was the debut of the the new Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up!; alcohol markers in 12 of our flagship colors in both a light and dark shade! There's also Bronze, Ivory, and a Color Lifter!

Some features of Stampin' Blends:

Add just the right amount of color where you need it with the brush tip or fine-point.
Each color (except Ivory and Bronze) has a light and dark shade marker, available individually or in a combo pack.
Stampin' Up! has done in-house testing for evaporation and life testing and are really happy with the results!

Press fit seal prevents air from entering the barrel and causing evaporation.
The nestable lids are easy to keep track of and have a tight fit for long-lasting color.
