Stampin’ Up! Christmas with the Mams Continued!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas with the Mams Continued!

Hey there! Katie Wolters gave me a really great gift at our Yes Mam! Stamper's Christmas Party. Actually TWO gifts because the card she made was awesome too! She used the Spooky Cat photopolymer set in an out-of-the-box way; using the "hoot owl" to create a "snowy owl" for a winter/Christmas card! The second gift is the gorgeous wood card holder Katie helped her dad make! Simple and versatile, you can set it in the grooved base for a portrait presentation:

Or you can turn it so the holder is landscape! I love Katie's choice of the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. It makes the card look warm and cool at the same time!

Katie heat-embossed the owl with white powder for the "snowy owl" effect. She also added snowflakes and a branch cut with Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies. She used an easy masking technique: tearing a strip of paper to lay over the bottom of the Whisper White layer before sponging the rest with Marina Mist ink. This gives a "snowbank" effect.

Her final touch is a bit of white satin ribbon tied in a simple knot.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 17!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 17!

Hey there! Today for Sunday Swap Day I've collected together a bunch of fun Halloween swaps! Halloween may seem far away, but it's the middle of September, time to start those cards or treat packaging now!

First, Mary Booker combined Spooky Night Designer Series Paper with the Spooky Cat stamp set and Everyday Label Punch to create a fun easel card!

Next, Christine Bertram also used Spooky Night Designer Paper and the Spooky Cat stamp set. She tied a bit of 5/8" Burlap Trim with Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine for an easy embellishment.

Dena Tarkowski combined the Seasonal Chums set with Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. She cut her layers with a Stitched Shapes Framelit and a Layering Squares Framelit.  Black Rhinestone Jewels, a new embellishment from the Holiday Catalog.

Carol Slack used the Spooky Cat stamp set with the Spooky Cat Punch (bundled to save 10%!) for her card. She punched a strip of Tangerine Tango card stock with the  Decorative Ribbon Border Punch for an added embellishment.

Janace Charbonneau used four different designs of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper for her background panel of her card. The Cat Punch and Black Rhinestone Jewels add interest along with the Basic Black Vintage Crochet Trim.

Jenna Raby also used the Spooky Cat Bundle, that includes the Cat Punch, with Spooky Night Designer Series Paper to create her circle pop-up card. Layering Circle and Layering Oval Framelits cut out all of the layers easily!

Finally, Jan Rodrian punched one cat from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper and punched the other directly from Basic Black card stock for her creation.  Her sentiment is from Pocketful of Sunshine!
