Hey there! It's time for Sunday Swap Day! yay!

First, a Christmas Quilt "floating image" card by Deb McCahan. I love Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, and Dapper Denim with Whisper White! The Quilt Top Folder brings it all together!

A Christmas Quilt phrase, needle & thread finish the inside!

Next, an anonymous stamper used Merry Little Labels, Softly Falling Textured Impression Folder, and snowflakes cut with Seasonal Layers Thinlets for this simple but gorgeous creation!

Raedean Shibata also used Merry Little Labels and the Everyday Label Punch (bundled to save 10%) with Basic Black and Soft Sky. She stamped the label on Watercolor paper with Archival Basic Black so she could subtly watercolor the Soft Sky (or it may be Pool Party) in the winter sky. Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper continues the starry look.

Season Like Christmas with Lemon Lime Twist, Real Red, Whisper White, and Embossing Paste snow was the choice for Jody Miller. Jody used a greeting from Ready for Christmas and the deer from Carols of Christmas. She used a piece of Merry Music Specialty Designer Paper for her background.

Another anonymous stamper used the Seasonal Chums Bundle with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Folder for their simply classic creation.

Finally, Sharon Tong-Robinson used Sugarplum Dreams for her adorable Powder Pink/Whisper White creation. Gold embossing for the greeting and a strip of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate add just the right touches of shine!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop October Edition Painted Autumn!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! Our October theme is the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper!

For my hop projects I chose to use the Seasonal Layers Thinlets, Patterned Party Decorative Masks, and Embossing Paste along with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper to make these:

To create the backgrounds for both cards I used the brick Pattern Party Decorative Mask, thinly spreading the Embossing Paste with a Palette Knife. The past dries really quick when spread thin, so after it dried I sponged the "bricks" with Cajun Craze ink. I also quickly cleaned the mask with warm water.

After cutting the branch from Crumb Cake with a Seasonal Layers Thinlet and adhering with liquid glue, I cut Painted Autumn DSP with the smallest leaf die, also from Seasonal Layers. I added the leaves to the branches with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped a Painted Harvest sentiment with Early Espresso ink, punched with the Pretty Label Punch, then sponged the edges with Cajun Craze ink. Before adhering to the card front with dimensionals I added a snipped of 5/8" Burlap ribbon with a glue dot. I finished the front with a single Gold Faceted Gem.

For my second card I used the same layout with the embossing paste bricks in the background. I used the open and detailed Seasonal Layers leaf dies to cut more Painted Autumn paper to adhere to the card front in a "falling leaves" design.

I stamped, punched, and sponged another Painted Harvest phrase for the greeting, and scattered a few Gold Faceted Gems across the front.

After stamping the Painted Harvest phrase on the inside layer, I cut out a couple more leaves from Painted Autumn paper and adhered with liquid glue so they could bridge across the card fold.

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here at Hearth & Home!

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here at Hearth & Home!

Hey there! Later today the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop will start hopping with a Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper theme. While working on my creation for the hop, I made these two cards with the Hearth & Home Thinlets, Cat Punch, and Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. Even though these weren't my first pick, I LOVE how they turned out!

Starting with a Crumb Cake card base, I added Early Espresso embossed with the Brick Wall Folder, followed by a Crumb Cake window cut with the Hearth & Home Thinlets. Behind the windowpanes I added a rectangle of Painted Autumn Designer Paper.

My favorite part of the card is the kitty punched from the dotted Pumpkin Pie design in the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper pack. After adding a collar around the kitty's neck with a Burlap Trim thread, I finished with a greeting from Sitting Here, punched with the Classic Label punch and adhered with dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is also from Sitting Here.

My second card has a bit more fall-ish with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper behind the window.

Each kitty you punch will be a little different because of the watercolored look of the design.

The Sitting Here phrase actually is a bit longer, but I punched exactly what I needed with the Classic Label Punch!

I inked the kitty from Sitting Here with Peekaboo Peach, then rock-n-rolled one edge with Pumpkin Pie. I used a Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends around the kitty. (Currently Stampin' Blends are only available for demonstrators to pre-order or add to their Demonstrator Starter Kit, but sometime in the next couple of months will be available for you to order too!)

Stampin’ Up! Faux Silk!

Hey there! After sharing the Gilded Faux Silk technique with you yesterday, I decided to make a true Faux Silk (is there such a thing as true faux?) card to show you what it looks like un-gilded. I used the Count My Blessings stamp set again with another natural coffee filter to create this:

I stamped the flower all over the coffee filter with Early Espresso ink adding Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive with sponge daubers.

After coloring and then crumpling into a ball, I adhered to a Very Vanilla piece with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, taking care to not smooth out the filter too much so it retained the bumps and creases. I wrapped the rest of the filter around to the back side of the layer, securing with more glue.

I stamped a Very Vanilla background layer with the same flower and Early Espresso ink, leaving it un-colored for contrast.

I sponged the edges of the stamped vanilla layer with Early Espresso ink, adhering to the card front with SNAIL. After adhering the Faux Silk layer to an Early Espresso mat, I adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

I stamped a banner with the Butterfly Basics birthday greeting, sponging the edges and adding a bit of stamped-off flowers to pull it all together. I sponged a couple of Touch of Nature Elements with Early Espresso before adding behind the banner with glue dots.

I finished the inside with a stamped and sponged Very Vanilla layer using only Early Espresso ink and more Count My Blessings images.

Stampin’ Up! Gilded Silk!

Hey there! I learned of a new technique the other day, a variation of the Faux Silk technique, Gilded Silk. For this technique I stamped on a natural coffee filter with an image from Count My Blessings, crumpled it into a ball, then adhered to a Very Vanilla layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I purposely did not smooth out the crumples to leave the lines and creases that give the Faux Silk it's look. I then adhered the edges the filter to the back side of the layer before adhering to the Early Espresso card base with SNAIL.

The "gilded" part of the technique is achieved by gently pressing a Versamark pad to the raised creases of the filter, sprinkling with Gold embossing powder, and then heating with a Heat Tool. This gives the crinkles some glitz. I then sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink.

I stamped "thinking of you" from Count My Blessings with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, cut with a Layering Oval Framelit, then sponged the edges with Early Espresso. I mounted it on an Early Espresso mat cut with an Eastern Medallion Thinlet. I stretched a piece of 1/4" Copper Trim to about 1/2" wide before gluing across the gilded silk layer. I adhered the greeting layers over the trim with dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Gilded Silk!

Hey there! I learned of a new technique the other day, a variation of the Faux Silk technique, Gilded Silk. For this technique I stamped on a natural coffee filter with an image from Count My Blessings, crumpled it into a ball, then adhered to a Very Vanilla layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I purposely did not smooth out the crumples to leave the lines and creases that give the Faux Silk it's look. I then adhered the edges the filter to the back side of the layer before adhering to the Early Espresso card base with SNAIL.

The "gilded" part of the technique is achieved by gently pressing a Versamark pad to the raised creases of the filter, sprinkling with Gold embossing powder, and then heating with a Heat Tool. This gives the crinkles some glitz. I then sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink.

I stamped "thinking of you" from Count My Blessings with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, cut with a Layering Oval Framelit, then sponged the edges with Early Espresso. I mounted it on an Early Espresso mat cut with an Eastern Medallion Thinlet. I stretched a piece of 1/4" Copper Trim to about 1/2" wide before gluing across the gilded silk layer. I adhered the greeting layers over the trim with dimensionals.
