Stampin’Up! Retiring Wood Sheets!

Stampin’Up! Retiring Wood Sheets!

The Wood Sheets are retiring, which I am a little bummed about since I just finally started playing with them! Guess it serves me right for not trying them out sooner! Here's a sample from the Spring into Stamping event on display:

This card uses the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder (not retiring!) and Lovely as a Tree (amazingly also NOT retiring!) Lovely As a Tree was one of my first go-to sets, it's been in the catalog longer than I've been a Demonstrator, yet it remains a high-selling favorite!

Thought I would show you one of my March Technique Class samples using Wood Sheets in case you missed it before:

Also retiring on this card: Plant Hope stamp set, Well Worn Designer Paper, and Artichoke Denim Ribbon!

That's all for today! Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Sheets with Plant Hope!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Sheets with Plant Hope!

Today I have for you the 2nd technique we will be learning at Punch/Technique Class this month. The 3rd technique you have already seen, it is the Mixed Bunch Quilted Dazzling Diamond Dust card from the March 1st post.

This card today was a blast to create! I have had the Stampin' Up! Wood Sheets from page 216 of the Main Catalog for forever, but have only played with them one time before, and can't seem to remember where the card is I made with them! 🙁

Wood Sheets are a 5 3/4" x 13 3/4"  layer of wood (four per package) with a thin, glossy paper backing. You can cut them with your Papercutter or the Big Shot. They are stampable, embossable, and sponge-able, of which I did all three on this card:

Gorgeous! I love the way stamping and sponging on the Wood Sheet brings out the "light" in the wood, don't you?!? I used the "Framed Tulips" Textured Impressions Folder on the edges of the matting layer, and also the rectangle "Decorative Frame" Textured Impressions Folder (free right now during SAB!)for the focal point layer. I also used the "Woodgrain" background stamp, "Plant Hope" for the focal image, and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" for the greeting.

I used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock inside in order to feature the beautiful advantage of using the Wood Sheets to get all the "light" on the front:

I hope you can see the difference. I was amazed!

Thanks for stopping by today! Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

We saw a bear!

We saw a bear!

Another fun thing that happened on our trip up the White Pass Trail by bus was we got to see a real live bear!

Bear

He wasn't a very big bear, probably a half-grown cub from last year, but he was a black bear our bus driver told us. This little guy was right beside the edge of the road foraging for food. Our bus stopped right beside him so we could take pictures of him and he continued to eat and look around as if we weren't even there! So sorry this picture is blurry, it was pretty cold outside so the window were cold and so my breath kept fogging it up! But we were excited, especially since earlier in the trip someone had asked the driver if we would see any bears and he wasn't too hopeful about it at all!

It just so happens I participated in a 6×6 Alaskan Cruise scrapbook page swap before the cruise and this was my page made with punches and the "Plant Hope" & "Word Play" stamp sets! I gave this one to Stampin' Up! and they put it on display in the Hospitality Room along with all the other swaps!

So there you are! More VBS tonight, so I have lots to do, as well as prepare for the Medallion Tile Class this weekend AND a yard sale at my house! I'm getting tired just thinking about it!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" day!
