Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Once Again!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Once Again!

Hey there! Today I want to share with you another Painted Harvest card I created while I was working on all of my cards for the Creative Crew on Splitcoaststampers. It didn't make it into my challenge offering, but I really like it and thought it was worth sharing:

Stampin_up_painted_autumn_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Painted Harvest Bundle (stamps and punch saving 10%), along with the Burlap Background and Butterfly Basics stamps.

After stamping both of the sunflower layers with Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso, I hand-cut the bloom with my Paper Snips to mount on the card front with dimensionals. I added a Gold Faceted Gem (you MUST have these if you don't already!) to the center for sparkle and dimension.

I stamped the leaves with Old Olive, then punched with the Leaf Punch included in the Painted Harvest Bundle. I adhered to the back of the sunflower with glue dots.

I created my banner with a 4 1/2" x 1" strip of Sahara Sand card stock. After I stamped the greeting with Early Espresso ink, I scored close to each end of the sentiment using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I scored another line 1/8" from both of the first scores. This allowed me to make a narrow "Z" fold for the banner lift. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Inside I stamped another bloom and a Painted Harvest sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917SIP Painted Harvest and the Holiday Catalog is LIVE!!!!

Hey there! Today is the start of the Holiday Catalog! No more "sneak peeks"; you can order these inspiring products for yourself today!

I joined the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew for the fall semester. The Creative Crew  is the Stampin' Up! Design Team on Splitcoaststampers, participating in challenges each month. The September theme is Fall. I love, love, LOVE fall!

The first challenge: create simple and stepped-up versions of the same project.  I used the Painted Harvest Bundle and the Burlap Background for mine.

For my simple project I stamped everything on a Sahara Sand card base. NO LAYERS! (gasp!)
Stampin_up_painted_autumn_one_layer_carolpaynestamps1

Here's a tip with the large background stamps (clear mount): If you like to place your image face-up on your stamping surface like I do and then lay your card stock on the inked image to gently rub to transfer the ink, YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE GIANT STAMPING BLOCK!!! You can leave the stamp inside the case, ink with the pad, and then lay your card stock on it! This was a light bulb moment for me I just had to share! You will still need the largest clear block for some of our other large images and to arrange multiple stamps for collage stamping, but to leave the background stamps in the case this way is a huge time saver!

Step 1
After stamping the Burlap image with Sahara Sand ink, I went ahead and stamped the sunflower layer twice with Daffodil Delight, turning the stamp about a quarter turn between inkings to get a nice, full bloom. I stamped the inside flower layer with Fresh Fig, the center with stamped-off Soft Suede, and the "seeds" with full-strength Soft Suede.

Stampin_up_painted_autumn_one_layer_carolpaynestamps2

To stamp the Tranquil Tide leaves I stamped the largest bloom twice on a large Post-it Note, cut it out to create a mask, covered the sunflower with the mask before stamping the leaves around the bloom with the ends stamping over the mask. When I removed the mask the leaves have the look of depth, as if they are coming from behind the bloom.

Step 6 Stampin_up_painted_autumn_one_layer_carolpaynestamps2
I kept the front free of any other embellishment, I just let the stamps and ink do the work.

I added a card base of Tranquil Tide and a layer of Fresh Fig to start my stepped-up version:

I stamped the Butterfly Basics greeting on a 1" strip of Sahara Sand that I punched each end with the Banner Triple Punch. I scored twice 1/8" apart on each side of the words, folding on the score lines to make a raised banner. After sponging the edges with Soft Suede I popped them up on the card with a two-dimensional stack under the center and a glue dot on each end.

Stampin_up_painted_autumn_stepped_up_banner_carolpaynestamps3

I used the same masking technique for the leaves around the sunflower, adding a Gold Faceted Gem to the center to complete the stepped-up look.

Stampin’ Up! Yes Mam! Stampers Holiday Catalog Shoebox Swap!

Stampin’ Up! Yes Mam! Stampers Holiday Catalog Shoebox Swap!

Hey there! A few of my Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators, the Yes Mam! Stampers, gathered together last night for our monthly meeting. This month we had a Shoebox Swap, which means we each designed a card, cut enough supplies for everyone at the meeting to make it, and at the meeting everyone made each other's cards!

First, Cathy Lingle used the Sneak Peek bundle, Carols of Christmas for her card. There were actually two color combos for this card; the other one was Real Red and Garden Green. I love that little deer! I would probably never fuss with hand-cutting it out, but it's so easy with the die from the Card Front Builder Thinlets!

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps
Next, Tina Biby used the Christmas Quilt set, Christmas Quilt 6×6" Designer Series Paper, Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon, and Stitched Felt Embellishments. Copper heat embossing really makes this card pop! The background trees are cut from the designer series paper.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps2

Angela Black used the Quilted Christmas 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper stack with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a Christmas/birthday card featuring a Happy Birthday Gorgeous greeting punched with the new Everyday Label Punch!

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gprgeous_carolpaynestamps

Joanne Cantrell combined Silver heat-embossing with the Snowflake Sentiments set with the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets Dies for her easy card. We adhered the intricately beautiful Silver Foil border with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and added Silver Metallic-Edged Ribbon tied in a bow.

Finally, Angie Lisk  demonstrated for us the Shutter Card Fold, and then we made her swap with the same technique! Angie used the Painted Harvest set with Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. I love fall color!

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

I've been dying to learn this fold! It's one of those "looks impressively hard but is actually really easy" techniques. You'll be seeing me use this one again!
