Stampin’ Up! Toile Christmas Cardinal!

Stampin’ Up! Toile Christmas Cardinal!

Hey there! Yesterday was a very productive day, stamping-wise, as well as a fun day with my granddaughter, Darcy! She painted with water, stamped with a fun retired set I had saved for her, played with stickers, and ended the day with a 4-wheeler ride in the dark with her PaPa and I! We stay strictly on farm ground, no roads whatsoever, on well-worn paths mostly, so very safe! It was chilly, so we put on coats and wedged her between us so she stayed warm! Sweet memories!

Today I want to share with you an ornament I created with the Toile Tidings Suite on pages 6-9 of the Holiday Catalog:

Stampin_up_toile_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

I have to say this turned out exactly the way I imagined it in my head!

I sponged the edges of the white heat-embossed cardinal and the Garden Green wreath with Crumb Cake ink for a vintage look.

Stampin_up_toile_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

I added Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels for pops of color.

Stampin’ Up! Another Spirited Snowman Skating Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Another Spirited Snowman Skating Ornament!

Hey there! Today I have one more Spirited Snowmen ornament to share with you, and then it's back to the craft table for some serious stamping time! It's actually pretty neat now it works out – seems like I manage to get a pile of things stamped right before I have a stretch of time where I'm either busy with my family or prepping for classes! Then I have new things to share even when I'm not stamping every day!

Today I have this cute guy to share again, only in a different color combo! I stamped the little skating guy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink so I could color him with my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I used Light Real Red, Light Bermuda Bay, Light Pool Party, Dark Pumpkin Pie, Dark Basic Black, and Light Smoky Slate!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps1

After I finished coloring him I covered his face and body with Clear Wink of Stella and traced around him with my Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps2

I inked "winter cheer" on the edge of my Versamark ink pad so only "cheer" was inked. After I stamped it on a 1/2" wide strip of Bermuda Bay  I sprinkled with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heated with my Heat Tool.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps4

A pretty quick and easy ornament!

Carol Payne Stamps Alpine Sports Thinlets SLED!!!!

Carol Payne Stamps Alpine Sports Thinlets SLED!!!!

Hey there!I had to do it. You knew I would, didn't you? This one turned out EXACTLY as I envisioned it!

Stampin_up_alpine_sports_carolpaynestamps1

Perfect for a tree ornament or a package adornment, I smeared Shimmery White Embossing Paste for a snowy sled and the Festive Farmhouse Element "merry". I added the tree and snowflake from the Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes for a pop of Garden Green:

Stampin_up_alpine_sports_carolpaynestamps2

Embossing Past dries fast, so work quickly with the palette knife. Don't worry if it doesn't smear on evenly (it won't anyway), because after you play in the snow it's all mussed up in real life!

Stampin_up_alpine_sports_carolpaynestamps3

To create the sled I cut 5 Real Red sleds with the Alpine Sports Thinlet, then used a small, cheap watercolor brush to apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere together.

Stampin_up_alpine_sports_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped the sled runners from the Alpine Adventure set with Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, cut them out by hand, then trimmed them a little bit shorter before folding down the top edge to adhere to the bottom of the sled. When I make another one I will adhere to runners together to create each one for just a bit more stability. I adhered to the bottom of the sled with liquid glue.

Stampin_up_alpine_sports_carolpaynestamps6

It stands alone, adheres to a package, is hung on the tree, or just sits around being fabulous!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Ornament!

Hey there! Now that I'm done sharing  my Creative Crew projects, I can finish sharing the Night in Bethlehem projects I made for Vacation Stamping School!

My project today was inspired by a Christmas card idea I found last year. It has no watermark so I can't give anyone credit for the inspiration, but here's the idea and my project side by side:
Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps1
The project on the left used retired designer paper, stamps, and dies, but the background paper is what inspired my ornament with the "cracked glass" technique!

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps2

I glue-dotted Gold Metallic Thread between two gold Foil Snowflakes (there are also silver in the package) for my ornament base. After stamping the Holy Family with black in on Very Vanilla and punching with the Everyday Label Punch, I sponged the edges with black ink. I let the ink dry for a bit, then pressed a Versamark ink pad directly on the whole piece, sprinkled with Clear embossing powder, and then heated with my Heat Tool. I repeated this process 5 times to get a thick layer of clear embossing over the image. I then popped it into the freezer for about 10 minutes, then removed and immediately twisted the paper to make the frozen embossing layers crack. I put it back in the freezer for another 10 minutes and repeated the cracking upon removal.

I sponged the cracks with Soft Suede ink to help them show up more, then adhered to the gold Foil Snowflake with several dimensionals. I cut a snowflake from a Gold Foil sheet with the smallest die in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets. After adhering with a glue dot, I added a single pearl.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps3

On the flip side I used the cracked glass technique over the Night in Bethlehem sentiment. This handmade keepsake could possibly become a family heirloom!
