Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day October 28th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day October 28th!

Hey there! Yesterday was a long, long day. I was awakened at 5:30 a.m with the news that my youngest daughter, the one with the newest baby, was headed to the ER with a kidney stone. Mark headed to their house to watch the three older children, while I headed to meet them and the littlest one, at the ER. Twelve hours and minus THREE tic-tac-sized stones later, she is back home with no infection and only ibuprofen for pain. Praise God! My arms are tired from holding, bouncing, jiggling, and comforting a cranky, hungry 3-month-old who refused to drink formula from a bottle. She's never had any thing but mommy's milk, so I can't say as I blame her. I took ibuprofen before I went to bed too!

Thankfully I have Sunday Swap Day projects to share with you today, and they are all Christmas-themed!

First, a fun card by Sharon Tong-Robinson with the Feathers & Frost set colored with Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Markers:

Stampin_up_feathers_&_frost_carolpaynestamps1

This sentiment is included in Feathers & Frost:

Stampin_up_feathers_&_frost_carolpaynestamps2

Next, Tamie Ackerson used the Making Christmas Bright set with Poppy Parade, Whisper White, and Santa's Workshop Designer Series Paper for her card. She embellished with Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon from the Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_making_christmas_bright_carolpaynestamps5

The inside sentiment and the string of light bulbs is also from Making Christmas Bright!

Timeless Tidings was the set of choice for Stephanie Flath. I didn't know there was such a place as Wyoming, Michigan, did you?

Stephanie embossed both Whisper White and Galvanized Metallic Paper with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder for an inlaid look:

Stampin_up_timeless_tidings_carolpaynestamps1

I love this tree and the Timeless Tidings sentiment!

Finally, Ruth Bingle combined the Subtles and Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Folders with the Wishing You Well stamp set:

Ruth embellished with Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini-Striped Ribbon:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! We had a FULL day yesterday! We celebrated October birthdays at our house AND took our annual family pictures! I'm excited to see how they turn out! It's extra-nice to be the photographer's mom!

With all of the prep for that going on, I never got a chance to blog my usual Sunday Swap Day, so I'm going to share it with you today!

First, a z-fold card created by Tandra Boyer with the Merry Christmas to All Bundle and All Is Bright Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_with_all_is_bright_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

She stamped inside with a Timeless Tidings sentiment:

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_with_timeless_tidings_carolpaynestamps1

Next, an anonymous creator also used the Timeless Tidings set with All Is Bright Designer Series Paper for their Diagonal Fold card:

Stampin_up_timeless_tidings_with_all_is_bright_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

Kathy Beck combined the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper, Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper and a tree cut with an In the Woods Framelit Die. She finished off her tree with a splatter of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint!

Stampin_up_winter_woods_with_joyous_noel_specialty_designer_series_paper_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Cindy Ewertz used the Dashing Along Designer Paper (a Host Exclusive in September and now retired) with the Maps, Etc. Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Winter Woods stamp set to create her diagonal fold card. She added a few rhinestones and a 3/16" Braided Linen Trim bow.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Snowmen Ornament!

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Snowmen Ornament!

Hey there! I couldn't resist using the Spirited Snowmen set to create an ornament or two! I matches the card I shared with you yesterday! One thing I noticed is how different the snowman looks simply by changing the placement on the paper!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps1

I sandwiched 3/16" Braided Trim between the oval layers for the ornament hanger. This would also make an adorable gift tag!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps2

To color this fellow, I first stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is perfectly formulated to come in contact with the alcohol-based Stampin' Blends, which is what I used to color the snowman hat, scarf, arms, buttons, and nose! I used a White Stampin' Chalk Marker to color the snowman head & body. A Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush lends snowy shimmer!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps3

I traced around the snowman with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to give him more depth and a look of movement.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_ornament_with_shimmery_white_embossing_paste_carolpaynestamps4

I used a Palette Knife to smear the Shimmery White Embossing Paste on just about every edge on this ornament! I heat embossed "CHEER" with white powder before snipping one end into banner points and adding Shimmery White Embossing Paste "snow".

Stampin’ Up! Skating Spirited Snowmen!

Stampin’ Up! Skating Spirited Snowmen!

Hey there! There are two other snowman images in the Spirited Snowmen set besides the one I've used on all of my previous projects. Today I have a card to share that uses the little skating guy!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps1

I LOVE this little guy in his toboggan hat! I colored directly on the Crumb Cake card stock with the Stampin' Blends after stamping him with Memento ink. Memento is the best ink to use with Stampin' Blends because it doesn't bleed! I colored his body sections with a Chalk Marker, then colored over that with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!

The snowflakes inside the oval are from the Spirited Snowmen set and are heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

To give him a little more depth, after I finished coloring him, I then took the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker and traced a line all the way around. It looked darker when I first started tracing around him, but as soon as the alcohol evaporated the line no longer looked harsh or too "contrasty".

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps2

I smeared a thin layer of Shimmery White Embossing Paste over the Crumb Cake background embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic folder. The Shimmery White Embossing Paste dries quickly and gives such a lovely frosty look!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps3

The snowflake is cut with the Blizzard Thinlets Die and has a Gold Metallic Pearl added to the center.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowman_carolpaynestamps4

The inside sentiment is from Timeless Tidings.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen Part TWO!

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Springy Snowmen Part TWO!

Hey there! Here's the second spring-y snowman card created with Spirited Snowmen, Buffalo Check, Timeless Tidings, and the Blizzard Thinlet Die:

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps6

This snowman jiggles, wiggles, and springs!

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps8

Stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Stampin' Blends, and cut out with Paper Snips. I painted him with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps7

I punched the Timeless Tidings sentiment with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch, then cut a scalloped circle from Bermuda Bay with a Layering Circle Framelit.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps9

Inside I used a Timeless Tidings sentiment, adding brayered Pool Party snowflakes.

Stampin_up_spirited_snowmen_carolpaynestamps10

TO MAKE THE SPRING!

I needed thin wire, but didn't have any, so I stripped the cover from a twist-tie, then wrapped about 3 1/2 inches around a paintbrush handle. I slid the spring off the handle.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps1

Four 3/4" white circles and four 3/4" Multipurpose Adhesive circles. Pierce a hole in the center of two white circles.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps2

Thread the spring ends through the holes.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps3

Add a Multi-purpose Adhesive circle to another white circle, remove the backing, adhere over the wire ends.

Stampin_up_spring_carolpaynestamps4

Add a final layer of adhesive sheet to the circles. I uncovered the stickiness to adhere the spring to the snowman and the card. These directions are paraphrased from Gillian Whitcombe, UK Stampin' Up! Demo.
