Stampin’ Up! Quilted Ornate Garden!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Ornate Garden!

Hey there! I love cards that look like quilting!

I used Ornate Garden Specialty prints that looked like quilt fabric, and Pear Pizzazz and Rococo Rose to match. I cut 1 1/4" squares of the flowery print to add to a  2 1/2" Pear Pizzazz square. I put the square on the diagonal to a 3 1/2" Rococo Rose square. I cut 1 1/4" squares of Rococo Rose print in half diagonally to add to every other square. After I adhering I ran the whole piece through the die-cutting/embossing machine inside the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.

I embossed the Old Olive card front with the same folder before adhering the "quilt" with dimensionals. I cut away the outer edges of a Pearlized Doily to add to the center with liquid glue, then added a bow of Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo pack with a glue dot.

I stamped the Ornate Thanks greeting with Mossy Meadow, then cut with an Ornate Layers die. I stamped a single bloom from Ornate Style with Mossy Meadow, then colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. After popping it up with a dimensional I added the tiniest of the Gilded Gems.

I learned this technique last year in Charlotte, NC from Colleen Magness  (NOTE: the product medley she uses in her video is on the Clearance Rack today for almost 1/2 price!) and was reminded of it recently by Julie Davison.

Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch Quilted Dazzling Diamond Dust!

Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch Quilted Dazzling Diamond Dust!

Try sayin' that 5 times fast!

I'm getting ready for a workshop tonight, and yesterday evening, (after the taxes were done, yuck!) I started working on the projects for it! I wanted to use the SAB Designer Paper, "Everyday Enchantment", and I knew I wanted to use the "Mixed Bunch" stamp set, but after that I was pretty stumped. I went to Stampin' Connection, the exclusive, demo-only website Stampin' Up! provides for us (just ONE of the MANY great perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!) and typed in "Mixed Bunch". Several PAGES filled with thumbnails of great ideas came up. I found a card with this color scheme, using the "embedded embossing" technique to give the card it's quilted look, so I stated CASE-ing. (CASE-ing means to "Copy And Share Everything"!") I changed up a few things, such as adding the "Dazzling Diamond Dust" technique with the Big Shot Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheets and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, as well as adding the Word Window-punched sentiment from "Teeny Tiny Wishes", and "Everyday Enchantment" Ribbon and Brad.

Can you see the glitter on the Blossom Punch-ed flower? I LOVE IT!

I also mounted the focal point on a Lucky Limeade mat layer and then a cardbase of Poppy Parade. I know the color in the DSP is supposed to be Calypso Coral, and I LOVE Calypso Coral, I actually prefer to use Poppy Parade with this paper. I think it just gives it all a little more "pop"!

Here's the inside of the card. I used an oldie-but-goodie, tried-and-true, go-to set, "Curvy Verses"! (Do you think I can come up with a few more cliches? If you can think of some more, leave me a comment with your suggestions and I will give away a few of these cards! Just leave me a comment between now and midnight, Sunday, March 4th and I will draw names to give 6 of these cards away!

Next week after I draw the names I will post the class instructions for this one! Hint about the instructions: I used the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets TWO DIFFERENT WAYS on this card!
