Stampin’ Up! One of a Kind Wedding Shower!

Hey there! I know I’ve been mentioning the wedding shower we were throwing for a good family friend, and yesterday was the day! I have a few pictures to share of the day, including the decorations I was able to create using my Stampin’ Up! stuff!

First, let me say that while I did have a few ideas for decorating when the bride-to-be told me her wedding theme was “teal, red, burlap, & lace”, when we received the wedding invitation, my creativity was instantly sparked!

The invitation
How cute is this? !! The bride wanted to keep it simple, so here’s what I came up with:

The tables

I painted the pint-sized Ball Mason jars first with a coat of tan acrylic paint, let it dry for awhile, then added a lightly-brushed on coat of a sort-of Pool Party blue. We had runners of burlap left over from Alisa’s baby shower almost two years ago (her theme was “Toys From Her Childhood”), then we added the Pool Party Mason Jars and scattered Cherry Cobbler blooms that we had punched with the Pansy Punch and the Petite Petals Punch.

The layered blooms

Both blooms were curled slightly with a bone folder and then held together with a glue dot. Each of the two-layer blooms had a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center.

The jar candle

Each jar had a battery tea-light inside, and we added a heart punched with the Sweetheart Punch from Crumb Cake card stock that had been white heat-embossed with the Something Lacy Background. A little bit of Linen Thread was tied around the top of the jar, but the heart was actually attached with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I also painted a few quart jars and adhered hearts embossed with the same Something Lacy background cut with one of the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies (which are the Weekly Deals at 25% off through the end of today)

I sent a picture of the invitation to Rhonda McLearin, the lady  who makes our shower cakes. She coordinated the cake with everything else perfectly!

The shower cake
Overall I was very happy with the way all of it came together. I loved the rustic look of the painted canning jars and the colors turned out to be much softer than I originally anticipated.
