Stampin’ Up! Here For You Easel Card!

Stampin’ Up! Here For You Easel Card!

Hey there! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was super-busy! I ran over to Fairview Heights to visit with my brother over lunch on Friday, on Saturday I went to Ivory's 1st birthday party, and Sunday we hosted our family September/October birthday gathering! Needless to say, I didn't have any time to blog yesterday, but I'm back again today with a new card I had almost forgotten to share with you!

When I was playing with the Quilted Christmas Suite I made one final card with a non-Christmas theme. I used a print from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper pack that turned out to be a perfect quilt-square print!

Stampin_up_here_for_you_carolpaynestamps1

For this "quilt" all I did was cut an Early Espresso "quilt" with the Quilt Builder Framelits, then cut a second quilt with the same die from a piece of Spooky Night DSP!

After putting the DSP pieces back inside the Early Espresso frame and adhering to the Very Vanilla layer, I embossed it all with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added the tiniest heart from the Hearts & Stars Elements with a bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin_up_here_for_you_carolpaynestamps2

I used the Faux Suede technique  to distress Peekaboo Peach card stock, separating the layers into two sheets before punching one with the Cat Punch. I sponged the edges with Peekaboo Peach ink for more depth. I added "I'm here for you", punched with the Classic Label punch.

Stampin_up_here_for_you_carolpaynestamps3

This card is another easel fold. I guess you've figured out by now I get in a groove sometimes with a fold, color palette, or technique.

Stampin_up_here_for_you_carolpaynestamps4

I used the bloom die from the Quilt Builder Framelits to create the "easel-stop". I added another tiny Hearts & Stars Element to the center. I love these tiny wooden accents!

Stampin_up_here_for_you_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used more Here for You phrases, then added the quilt stitching image with stamped-off Pumpkin Pie ink.

Stampin’ Up! Layered Die Cuts from Vacation Stamping School!

Stampin’ Up! Layered Die Cuts from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! Good News! My washing machine "may" be fixed! I say "may" because I've had the repairman twice this week! It's working now, but if something else goes wrong a new washer will be in my future.

Today I'm sharing samples from a Demonstration at Vacation Stamping School by Shirley Casey. Similar, and possibly the same, as the Eclipse technique, it's a fun way to add letters to create words on your card front!

Stampin_up_layered_die_cuts_carolpaynestamps

Shirley had a ton of samples. This one used snowflake images from Snowflake Sentiments and the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder. She used Berry Burst, Whisper White, Soft Sky, and Marina Mist for her "COLD" theme:

Stampin_up_eclipse_carolpaynestamps2

A darling little card using the Santa's Suit set. To create these cards, Shirley stamped the images on the card front before cutting out the letters.

Stampin_up_eclipse_carolpaynestamps3

Merry Cafe' stamp set. Shirley lines up the letter dies with the aid of a ruler, then holds them all in place with washi tape while she runs through the Big Shot. A couple more of the same letter are adhered under the top letter for depth.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous for Ivory!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous for Ivory!

Hey there! Tomorrow is my littlest granddaughter Ivory's 1st birthday! Her mommy, my daughter Alisa, wanted to make a few invites to be able to attach a picture, so with her request to use Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, and the flowers from Happy Birthday Gorgeous I created this:

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps1

I heat embossed the blooms with white embossing powder on the Wisteria Wonder layer. I love how these blooms pop!

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped "PARTY TIME" with Elegant Eggplant ink on the Very Vanilla strip, then used my 1/8" scoring trick to create the folds to pop-up the banner. I snipped the ends with Paper snips to create banner points, and stacked two dimensionals on top of each other to support the raised banner in on each end. I secured the point ends to the card front with glue dots. Before adding the banner I punched Elegant Eggplant with the Everyday Label Punch to add an Elegant Eggplant pop of color.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps3

We used a font called "Juice ITC", found in my Microsoft Word program, to print the party details on Very Vanilla. I was able to print four to a sheet and found a color in my program that coordinated perfectly with the Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder!

Stampin_up_happy_moon_baby_carolpaynestamps4

As a final little touch I stamped the bunny from Moon Baby with Elegant Eggplant, omitting the lamb, bear, and stars on either side with Scotch tape. After inking the bunny with Elegant Eggplant , I remembered to remove the tape before stamping on the invite!

Stampin’ Up! Stepped-Up Painted Harvest for the Creative Crew!

Stampin’ Up! Stepped-Up Painted Harvest for the Creative Crew!

Hey there! Just when you think you have everything lined up to accomplish a lot in one day, it can go awry. I've been dealing with a broken washing machine since last week. The repairman came on Tuesday afternoon, so I started washing my weeks-worth pile of laundry. I'd only done a few loads when the machine door stopped closing. Of course it was after hours by then. When my hubby came home he fixed it, so I was able to do a couple more loads before bedtime. Yesterday morning the door, although closed, refused to lock! The poor machine kept trying and trying to lock itself, so I turned it off and called my hubby. He got it going for one more load before it quit locking again! I called the repairman, who will be here tomorrow IF the part arrives on the UPS truck before he starts on his route. Goodness, will I ever catch up?

On the bright side, I DO have a great card to share with you today; the stepped-up version of the CAS Painted Harvest card from yesterday. I created a nifty tri-fold using the October Creative Crew Challenge colors of Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Tranquil Tide.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

After embossing the card front with the Petal Burst folder, I cut a circle through the front with a Layering Circle Framelit. I then used that circle and a scalloped Layering Circle Framelit to cut out the rim from Tangerine Tango. Before I adhere the scalloped circle rim, I cut out a circle slightly larger than the smaller circle from a Window Sheet to sandwich between the card front and the rim.

I stamped the bloom and the Painted Harvest greeting on the Whisper White layer behind the window sheet. I adhered the stamped and punched Tranquil Tide leaves between the layers with a glue dot. I tied a bit of Linen Thread in a bow and added it with a glue dot too.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

The Chocolate Chip card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4. The white layer is also 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and 4 1/4". I stamped the Tangerine Tango blooms multiple times before adhering the folded layer to the back side of the Chocolate Chip card base so it will open to create the tri-fold. I added  the little dots with the flower center image from Painted Harvest, stamping-off Tranquil Tide for a subtle look.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps3

The tri-fold inside was stamped with more Painted Harvest images.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps4

I sure hope the washer comes early today so I can get a little stamping done. You never know what a day will bring! lol!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest CCREW1017SIP Simple!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest CCREW1017SIP Simple!

Hey there! Another one of the October Creative Crew Challenges over on Splitcoaststampers is to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) card using the theme (Comfy & Cozy) and the Color Challenge (Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Tranquil Tide). As you probably already figured out, I'm really loving the Painted Harvest Bundle (stamps and punch), so I decided to use it to create my CAS card!

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

After embossing a layer of Chocolate Chip to adhere to the card front, I stamped the Painted Harvest bloom with Tangerine Tango on Whisper White, cut it out with a smooth Layering Circles Framelit, and then added a Tangerine Tango mat behind it that I cut with a scalloped Layering Circles Framelit. I stamped the center with stamped-off Early Espresso, and then stamped the greeting with full-strength Early Espresso.  The layers are adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the center for some sparkle. I stamped the lined leaf from Painted Harvest with Tranquil Tide on Whisper White, then punched with the Leaf Punch. I adhered behind the layers with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I stamped the Tangerine Tango bloom again, stamped the center with stamped-off Early Espresso, and added another Tranquil Tide-stamped leaf. I then stamped the Butterfly Basics sentiment with Early Espresso.

Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cafe’ for the Creative Crew!

Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cafe’ for the Creative Crew!

Hey there! I created this gift card holder for the October Creative Crew Color Challenge with the Coffee Cafe' stamp set!

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps1

The Color Challenge was to use Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Tranquil Tide. I added Whisper White for my neutral, and also used Early Espresso ink.

Ccrewsketch-002

I embossed the layer behind the coffee cup with the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Folder, and stamped the coffee cup wrap with a partially inked image from Snowflake Sentiments. I used a Tangerine Tango and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers on the sentiment, then stamped the tiny heart with ink from a Tranquil Tide ink pad.

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps2

The steam is another Snowflake Sentiments image. I hand-cut around it with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps3

I pulled a few threads from a piece of 5/8" Burlap ribbon to add below the cup.

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps4

The 4 1/4" x 11" Chocolate Chip card base is scored at 5 1/2" and 9 1/2". The 1 1/2" section is folded and punched with the 1 1/2" Circle Punch to create the pocket for a gift card.

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used Tangerine Tango and Early Espresso markers on the Coffee Cafe' sentiment. Markers do not deliver quite as much ink to a photopolymer stamp as it does to a red rubber one, which is why our classic firm foam ink pads need to be so juicy.
