Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas to All Glass Block!
Hey there! Welcome to November! I had to step into Hobby Lobby yesterday, and even though I only needed "just one thing", I walked out $95 poorer! lol!
I'm preparing for a craft fair this weekend, so I'm on the lookout for nifty ideas. I ran across bare glass blocks made to put Christmas lights in and was inspired to go home and create! I used Joyous Noel 6"x 6" Glimmer Paper and Big Shot dies from three different sets in the Holiday Catalog to create this:
I cut Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper with Merry Christmas Thinlet dies. I adhered a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of the paper for easy attachment to the embossed Vellum. I attached the vellum to the block with glue dots after I embossed with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's hard to tell from the picture, but "Merry" is cut from Copper and "Christmas" is cut from Merry Merlot Glimmer Paper!
I cut the tree from Tranquil Tide Glimmer with an In The Woods Framelits Die. This die cuts both the outline and the branches so they can be "fluffed" out for dimension.
I cut the white tree from Sparkle Glimmer Paper with another In The Woods Framelits Die, and the Soft Suede deer with a Detailed Deer Thinlet. After I cut out the deer I embossed them with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder.
With the block standing up and the lights turned on in the dark:

I created another version with the Merry Christmas Thinlets and Detailed Deer Dies. I embossed the vellum with the Woodland Textured Impressions folder.
Lights on!

Which do you like best? I can't decide either!
