Stampin’ Up! Best of Love “Olive You”!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Love “Olive You”!

Happy Saturday to you! Sorry for the delay to day in getting my post up, I just let myself me a little lazy this morning!

Some of you are probably wondering about how my eye surgery went. It went well. No pain, just a little "poke" feeling. A little headache for awhile, but not migraine level. Eye a little "smeary", with some particles floating around, but most of it is gone already this morning. It took longer for the prep than the surgery itself!

They are pretty sure it was completely successful. My left eye pressure was 17 before the procedure, 14 fifteen minutes after. Just have some anti-inflammatory drops to put in it 3 times a day.

Having the right eye done next Friday. Checking on the status of the "Vitreal Membrane Detachment" (which was the eye event that started all of this in the first place) on March 18th. Hopefully if I don't get a tear in my retina by then I will be out of the woods.

We just never know what life is going to throw at us, do we? I'm taking the VMD as a blessing in disguise as they wouldn't have caught the "Narrow Angle Glaucoma" this early without it!

As promised, here's the final sample for the "Best of Love" class:
Olive you 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Who doesn't want a giant olive for their birthday??!!!

I used one of the Ovals Framelits Dies to make the olive card shape, then punched the pimento opening with the Extra Large Oval Punch. The greeting is from Henry Says, since it was still out on my stamping desk. It was the right size to fit in the Ticket Duo Punch!

Olive you 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I cut a smaller Real Red Oval Framelit for the pimento layer on the inside (the Oval Framelits contain 7 sizes of ovals). I stamped the "olive you!" in Jet Black StazOn twice, on Whisper White and on Real Red, then cut out the Real Red one to pape-piece over the white layer. Why did I make my olive red on the inside, and not Lucky Limeade like the card base? I really have no idea, except it just seemed to me to make a nicer contrast with all the green!

That's it for today! I'm still working on taxes (they have taken a back seat this week with all of this eye stuff going on). I was much more inclined to partake of "stamping therapy" than taxes!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Card #2!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Card #2!

Today we have the second card in the "Best of Birthdays" series, an olde-but-goodie birthday candle card!

Celebrate 1©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

The white-embossed "CELEBRATE!" is the Best of Birthdays stamp used. Summer Smooches is the Designer Paper used and the candle flames are punched with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I dry embossed the Pacific Point background layer with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. After the card was all finished I added a very thin layer of Clear Dazzling Details to the flames and let the card lay flat to dry for several minutes. I like the way the Dazzling Details made the flames curl and gave it a little more dimension!

Here's the inside:

I used Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers on this second image from "Best of Birthdays" before stamping.

The February installment of the "Best of . . " Series will be announced today! I can't wait to see and order it! I am offering a class every month using that month's set. Attendees get a $5 discount off the class fee when they order any of the "Best of. ." sets at the class.

On a family note: today we are off to take Ben, our youngest son, to the Oral Surgeon for a consult to remove two EXTRA teeth! We've known for a few years he had an extra top left and extra lower right tooth, but we were just leaving them be unless they created a problem. You guessed it! There is now a problem as the top one had started to come through in the roof of his mouth! A panoramic x-ray revealed the lower one is also "on the move", so we go today for the consult, then in two weeks he is scheduled to have both teeth removed. We will be glad to have this behind us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope your day "Stampingrox"!

I Dig You!

I Dig You!

We made a card similar to this one at my January Birthday Stamp-a-Stack, which was my jumping-off place for the trackhoe birthday card I made for Cohen a few weeks ago! (on a side note, Cohen's mom reports the trackhoe card is alive and doing well, despite the fact that Cohen plays with it frequently and moves the digging arm all around! I am amazed, I expect destruction when a four-year-old plays with cardstock!)

Dirtday 1©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Dirtday 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The major alteration to this card was the addition of the "splat" stamp from "Extreme Elements"! Whoever heard of construction vehicles being clean?????

Gotta run, lots to do today before my scrapbooking workshop!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

A Good Friend & Flower Power Party!

A Good Friend & Flower Power Party!

As an added treat for me, my good friend, Meg Wheeler, also earned Founder's Circle, so this year I will have a buddy to hang with at Founder's! My first year I didn't hardly know anyone, and last year was Meg's first year and was on her own too! But this year we are excited to get to hang out together! (sorry for the shaky photo, seriously, it was the best one of the bunch!) At Awards Night the next night, Meg was honored as the #15 Demonstrator of the Year and was appointed to the 2010-2011 Advisory Board! I was already proud to be her friend, but even prouder now! Go Meg!

On the evening of Check-in Day, Stampin' Up! put on a "Flower Power Party" for everyone! We were told to dress up if we wanted, and WOW, did some gals really deck out!

Here's the group I went with:
Flower power party
l to r: Linda (my wonderful downline!), me, Cathy, Michelle, Cynthia, Nicole, Meg, and Loree! Meg had provided the cool tie-dyed shirts for her downline(she hadn't changed into hers' yet), and included me, even though I'm not part of her downline!

Flower power
Think maybe I got into it just a little? When my kids saw this picture, one of them said, "oh, mom, you look so silly when you try to do attitude!" Oh well . . . !

The party included new catalog product demonstrations. Here's a couple:
