It's Monday! Another week to enjoy! I'm REALLY excited today, because tonight is the "Baby Hiller Reveal" party at my house! Alisa & Cody have the sonogram appointment today that should reveal whether their baby is a boy or a girl, and we are all gathering tonight so they can make the big announcement! We are SO EXCITED!!!!
Even though Alisa's baby is my 6th grandchild, I'm just as excited over this one as I was when Jessica was expecting Maddie Kate 12 years ago! I'm glad I'm not bored with babies!
(I just realized that I may not be allowed to reveal the baby's gender to you, though, so I will have to let you know tomorrow if I can or not! Sorry for the big build up. I hope I don't have to disappoint you!)
This card is one that I CASED from my downline, Linda Reaney. She created this card last month for her Punch and Technique Class and when she brought this card to our downline meeting I immediately knew I HAD to recreate it, it's so gorgeous!
Unfortunately, I had not purchased the Swallowtail stamp from the Occasions Catalog, but then fortunately for me I received enough orders that I was able to get this stamp for free! Yay!
Pretty much I CASED her card completely (with her permission, of course!), but why mess around with perfection? The Swallowtail is stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink, then colored with Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, and Island Indigo ink refills and Blender Pens. We dropped the ink refill in the of the matching inkpad so any excess would absorb right into the pad when we were done.
After the ink coloring was dry (and you could speed up the drying with a few blasts with the Heat Tool), we brayer the entire piece with Versamark ink, sprinkle Heat & Stick Powder over the whole thing, then heat the powder from the underneath side of the cardstock with the Heat Tool. You DON'T want to heat too much, just until the Heat & Stick has barely melted, or it will stop being sticky if you heat it too much. After all the Heat & Stick Powder is melted, then you sprinkle the whole thing with a mixture of Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. (We used a container of each mixed together.) Tap off the excess back into the container you mixed them in, then heat again with the Heat Tool from the underside just like you did with the Heat & Stick Powder. As the Iridescent Ice heats, it and the Heat & Stick Powder will help to seal the glitter. The result is a gorgeous iridescene along with the pop of the glitter!
The greeting is from "Loving Thoughts" and the flowers stamped around the greeting are from the free Sale-a-bration set, "Bloomin' Marvelous"!
Here's the inside:
We stampe with "Bloomin' Marvelous" again, and the inside phrase is from another free Sale-a-bration set, "Vintage Verses".
I have really enjoyed sharing this card with my stampers and with you. I am thinking this might be a fun one to demonstrate in a video one of these days. What do you think? My husband just bought me a video camera as a late Christmas present (we were thinking of getting a treadmill, but decided I can walk anywhere anytime I want!), so I am getting closer to trying to make a stamping video! It's been on my "To Do" list for a long time, and hopefully after I get my taxes done (farmers & fishermen have to have their taxes done by the end of February) I will be ready to give this a try!
That's all for now! See you again tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!
