Stampin’ Up! Game On!

Hey there! I'm working on the birthday cards for the August Birthdays this Sunday. I won't tell you who this card is for, but they don't pay much attention to my blog or Facebook, so they probably won't see it!

My family loves to play games; board games, card games, video games, yard games. If there's the word "game" in it they probably want to play it! I've even known them to play TWO games at the same time all sitting around my dining room table!

I used a new Annual Catalog set, Game On, to create this rather masculine birthday card. And yes, there's actually two of them in this picture. I try to make two of every card I create; one to give and one to display!

I stamped the background repeatedly and collage-like with the die and the checkers/chess board images with Tuxedo Black ink on the Crumb Cake layer. The cards are stamped on Whisper White and then hand-cut (there's no dies with this set), but the lines are straight so it was easy to do. I just make sure I leave a little bit of white around the stamped image so the edges look smooth. I added Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a pop of color and bling.

I love this sentiment! Perfect for a gamer's birthday!

The chess image is so gorgeous I couldn't resist using it!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Positive Thoughts!

Hey there! Today I pulled out another of my favorite sets, Positive Thoughts. I wanted to create another card to feature the Butterfly Gems that are my ordering gift this month when you spend $50. I also used Ornate Garden Specialty Designer paper and the print I chose coordinated beautifully with Pear Pizzazz, making the Terracotta Tile Butterfly Gem really "pops"!

I heat-embossed the blooms with white powder on Bumblebee card stock, then cut with a Nature's Thoughts die. After stamping the greeting with Terracotta Tile ink I punched with the Tailored Tag. I added a bow tied with the Old Olive ribbon in the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.

After stamping the butterfly with Terracotta Tile and cutting with a Nature's Thoughts die, I added Clear Wink of Stella. Stella will smear classic ink of you keep brushing a bit, so it worked just the way I wanted to pull some of the ink into the white areas. I bent the butterfly slightly in the middle before adding it with a glue dot.

I added one of the tiniest Terracotta Tile Butterfly Gems for another pop of color. The Pear Pizzazz rectangle was also cut with a Nature's Thoughts die, reminding me that I need to use these dies more often!

This Positive Thoughts sentiment is perfect for so many cards and occasions!

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala!

Hey there! All month I've been offering the Butterfly Gems as my $50 ordering gift, but just realized I haven't shared a single project with them! I pulled out one of my favorite sets, Butterfly Gala, to create an easy card that features them!

This card came together very quickly! I stamped the four different butterflies with Highland Heather ink on Purple Posy card stock, then dry embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

I stamped the greeting from Here's a Card on white, stamped-off the butterflies once before stamping over the greeting, then punched with the Tailored Tag Punch. I added a couple of Purple Posy Butterfly Gems for the finishing touch.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from Here's A Card with Highland Heather ink, as well as another pair of butterflies. Isn't this one so appropriate? Not everyone appreciates a handmade card!

I created a second card with almost the same supplies, but used one of the Butterfly Gala sentiments on the front.

The Butterfly Gems come in two sizes and the five 2019-2021 In Colors of Purple Posy, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile, and Pretty Peacock.

Stampin’ Up! Many Mates Anniversary!

Hey there! I created today's card on the fly for a 50th wedding anniversary party my oldest daughter, Jessica, threw for her in-laws. While looking for Gold Foil scraps to cut a "50", I found the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. This stuff is GORGEOUS!!!!!

I put a layer of Gold Foil behind the Blackberry Bliss embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder, but the star of the show is the Forever Gold Specialty! There are no words! The all-one-piece gold background behind the greeting includes the cut-out small and large gold leaves! I heat embossed the Many Mates greeting with gold embossing powder, then punched with the Tailored Tag punch.

I added a tiny gold Gilded Gem for just a little bit of bling. This picture also shows the fine detail of the Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder on the Blackberry Bliss layer:

Stampin’ Up! Healing Hugs!

Hey there! I needed to make a Get Well card last week for a dear friend who found out she had a heart attack. She's a little younger than me (I'm 60) so of course I was a bit shocked. She's actually feeling much better now that the stent is in. She didn't realize that some of her symptoms were symptoms of a heart attack, but she should be fine now!

I'm hoping she gets her card in the mail before she sees it here on my blog, but it turned out so lovely I just can't wait any longer to share it! I actually made two, which takes only a little longer than making one, so I would have one to display!

I used Healing Hugs with Gorgeous Grape, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White for my color palette.

It's hard to capture with a camera, but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the fancy-cut bloom!

I tied a bit of Flowers For Every Season Ribbon in a bow and added it with a glue dot. The ribbon is Just Jade, but a softer version that I think blends well with Mint Macaron.

The "Get Well Soon" greeting from Healing Hugs fits perfect inside the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch! I discovered the perfect sequin in the Whale Of A Time Sequins pack!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day July 26th!

Hey there! A friend of mine told me yesterday she had noticed I had been neglecting my blog this week, and stated, "when I don't see something for awhile I forget about it".
