This cute little gal is all ready for the 4th of July! One of my stampers, Becca, emailed me her version of the Aloha girl. She is getting ready to leave for Hawaii this next week, and is giving this card as a part of a gift for her friend she is traveling with. I asked for her permission to post her creation and she was thrilled!

Send me your version of any of the samples I post here on Stampinrox, and I will gladly post it with your permission!

Cupcake Card!

This cute card we made at one of my stamp camps this week. My hostess wanted "Birthday, Birthday, Birthday" cards, so that's what we did!
This card uses the Round Tab punch again to create the cupcake base and the frosting. I ran the Pretty In Pink cardstock through my crimper BEFORE I punched it with the Round Tab punch. The candle was created with the 'My Way" arrows punch. I used the smallest arrow and punched one from Chocolate Chip and one from Summer Sun cardstock. I then clipped off the "barbs" of the arrows and layered the Summer Sun tip behind the Chocolate Chip. Both are layered behind the top of the cupcake. The cupcake is layered on a Close to Cocoa Scalloped Circle. I used the Round Tab punch to create the 2" circle around the Close to Cocoa Scallop Circle. I stamped "wish big" from "Short & Sweet" on a scrap of Whisper White, then cut it down with my snips. I attached it to the inside of the Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware frame with mini-glue dots, then attached it all to the card with the aged copper brads that are included in the Hodgepodge Hardware Kit. REGARDING THE RETIRED ACCESSORIES LIST: This list will not be published until July 21st, but we DO KNOW from the information included in last month's special that the Aged Copper, Antique Brass, and Pewter finishes will be retired, so if you have been thinking about purchasing one of these Hodgepodge Hardware kits, you need to order soon! The "Styled Silver" Hodgepodge Hardware featured in the Occasions Mini will most likely be in the new catalog, but until we actually see the new catalog (I get to see it at Convention in Salt Lake City on July 30!) we won't know for sure! Retiring "Berry Bliss" Designer Series paper and a piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8" wide grosgrain ribbon finished off this card.

This sweet little hula girl would be perfect to send to someone leaving on a Hawaiian trip! I wish I had one of my downline earning Hawaii this month, I sure would love to send them this card! This card uses the 1 3/8", 1 1/4", & 1" Circle,  the  Small Oval, and the Three For You punch box stamps & punch! As in years past, the "Three For You" punch box will be retiring on August 10th. Most likely the punch will continue in the next catalog, but the stamps from the box will not! I just love the tiny dotted flowers used in the centers of her lei flowers and in her hair, but if you don't buy the punch box now, you will never have the chance to stamp with these cute stamps again! I also used the retiring "Circle of Friendship" stamps for the greeting. Don't forget this stamp set is part of the 25% off E-scape Bundle promotion! I crimped the "sand" she is standing on, and used my Paper Snips to snip her hula skirt strands! Her arms are the 1 1/4" Circle punched first, then the 1 3/8" circle punched around the 1 1/4" punched hole. Her toes peeking out from under her grass skirt is actually a blush blossom flower punched with the "Three For You" punch! I wheeled the Wild Wasabi background with the "Petals" jumbo wheel with a custom-inked Wild Wasabi cartridge.

Purse-y Punching!

I used another darling Designer Series paper, "Flowers For You" for this card, along with the Round Tab punch, the Large & Small oval punches, Key Tag, and 1 3/8" Circle. I used brads from the Bold Brights & Soft Subtles brads collections on the purses and along the bottom right corner of the card, and a stamp set, "Hi & Hello" for the greeting.

These little purses are so cute and easy to make I just had to make a little tutorial to show you how!

Step One:

GEDC2178

Take the strip of Designer paper you are going to punch your purse from and score a line across it about 1 1/2" from the right end. This will allow you to fold it over after you punch it.

Step Two:

GEDC2179
Line up the center points of the Round Tab punch along the scored line and punch out the tab. As you punch the paper will actually start to fold itself!

Step Three:

GEDC2181

Fold over the round tab along the scored line and voila! a cute little purse is born! This picture shows using a punched out small oval to make the purse
"clasp"! After folding the excess to the back of the purse and SNAILing in place, punch with the 1/16" handheld punch and insert a brad.

Step Four:

GEDC2184
To create the purse handle, punch a strip of black cardstock first with the small oval punch.

Step Five:

GEDC2185
Punch around the small oval hole with the Large Oval punch.

Step Six:

GEDC2186
Attach this open oval to the back of the purse to create the handle. I cut the oval in 1/2 slightly off center to create the long and short handles on the different purses.

This card features the "Circle of Friendship" stamp set that is part of this month's E-scape Bundle 25% off promotion! I stamped "Sending You Birthday Wishes" in Whisper White Craft, then embossed with White embossing powder on both Real Red and Night of Navy cardstock, then punched out the Real Red with the 1" Circle punch and the Night of Navy "Your Special Day" with the 1/2" Circle punch. I layered them together, then layered both on a 1 1/4" punched Night of Navy Circle. The flower was created with the Large oval punch for the petals and the small oval for the flower center which was white embossed with the dotted tag stamp from the "Be Happy" Set, which is retiring along with "Circle of Friendship". I also used the paisley stamp from "Polka Dots & Paisley" retiring stamp set for the background.

Don't miss out on my June Retiring set special! Order two retiring stamp sets, get the third set of equal or lesser value at 20% off! (The Circle of Friendship set from the E-scape bundle 25% off promotion can count as one of the sets!) Contact me by June 30th to take advantage of this great deal!

Sweeter than Apple Pie -Just the Beginning of a GREAT WEEK!

Sweeter than Apple Pie -Just the Beginning of a GREAT WEEK!

GEDC2188 Happy Saturday everyone! I've been having a ball today! I've been surfing the net, looking for cute punch ideas, and have I found a bunch! I've been challenging myself to take a punch idea and twist and tweak it to make it my own! This apple core card uses the Round Tab punch. I've torn the top and bottom of punched out real read tabs to create the "peels" of the apple, and the stems are done with the round tab too! I used the corner rounder to punch the scallop edge of the "Summer Picnic" paper. The buzz on the cruise was that we are getting a BORDER SCALLOP PUNCH in the new catalog when it comes out on August 11th, and I can't wait! It will be so cool, not to mention faster! You can't hardly see it, but I used the apple from the "Tart & Tangy" set to stamp real red apples on the real red cardbase! The phrase "sweeter then apple pie", comes from the Occasions Mini set "One Smart Cookie"! I decided to use all three of these Occasions Mini products because in just a little over a week they will be gone, possibly forever! Very few mini catalog products make it into the big catalog, so if you have been thinking about any of these sets or the Designer Papers, you need to contact me before June 30th to get your order in!

Check back every day this coming week, as I will have a new card posted EVERY DAY! I've been having alot of fun stamping and can't wait to share it all with you!
