Purse-y Punching!

I used another darling Designer Series paper, "Flowers For You" for this card, along with the Round Tab punch, the Large & Small oval punches, Key Tag, and 1 3/8" Circle. I used brads from the Bold Brights & Soft Subtles brads collections on the purses and along the bottom right corner of the card, and a stamp set, "Hi & Hello" for the greeting.

These little purses are so cute and easy to make I just had to make a little tutorial to show you how!

Step One:

GEDC2178

Take the strip of Designer paper you are going to punch your purse from and score a line across it about 1 1/2" from the right end. This will allow you to fold it over after you punch it.

Step Two:

GEDC2179
Line up the center points of the Round Tab punch along the scored line and punch out the tab. As you punch the paper will actually start to fold itself!

Step Three:

GEDC2181

Fold over the round tab along the scored line and voila! a cute little purse is born! This picture shows using a punched out small oval to make the purse
"clasp"! After folding the excess to the back of the purse and SNAILing in place, punch with the 1/16" handheld punch and insert a brad.

Step Four:

GEDC2184
To create the purse handle, punch a strip of black cardstock first with the small oval punch.

Step Five:

GEDC2185
Punch around the small oval hole with the Large Oval punch.

Step Six:

GEDC2186
Attach this open oval to the back of the purse to create the handle. I cut the oval in 1/2 slightly off center to create the long and short handles on the different purses.
