Snow Burst Medallion!

Snow Burst Medallion!

A ©Stampin’ Up!™1990-2008

Just wanted to show you a little bit of stamping before I got to bed. It’s fabulous to be able to stay up late when my creative juices are flowing, then sleep in just a little in the morning! I could get used to this real quick!
This card is a CASE of a Perfect Plum one I received at Founder’s Circle from Mary Polcin, aka: Million Dollar Mary! She has been #1 in sales for the past few years and last May crossed a new milestone for Stampin’ Up!: she is the first demonstrator to achieve one million dollars in career sales! WOW! She did it in just a little less than 11 years! Anyway, a swap from Mary is always great, and she is such a warm and encouraging lady, you would never guess she was such a celebrity! (at least in SU! circles)
Ask to see her swap at the next event of mine you attend.

I used Brocade Blue &Whisper White cardstock, Brocade Blue ink, Snow Burst and Many Merry Messages stamps, and the Scallop Edge punch to create this card. I also used a 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and an Ice Rhinestone brad.

I think I need to show you a tutorial of how to punch this medallion, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, as my “creative juices” have just drained out and I’m off to bed ~ nighty night!

For Pam & Terri!

For Pam & Terri!

I did a little workshop today for Terri & Pam, and we had a ball, even though it was just the three of us! Their friends sure missed out on some fun projects! Per Terri's request, we made this gift cardholder from a medium Kraft envelope:
3

4
5
and this ornament using "To You & Yours", Iridescent Ice embossing powder, and the Coluzzle:
6
You can just barely see that the Naturals Ivory circle is mounted on a slightly larger circle of Handsome Hunter! We modified this ornament at Terri's by adding gold brads to either side of the base of the Round Tab punch ornament topper to keep it attached. It is hard to get even Sticky Strip to stay attached to embossed Iridescent Ice!

Terri & Pam had fun going through my sample basket. It is full of holiday card samples from my Founder's Circle trip, along with newer samples I have been stamping every day. They fell in love with three cards and I told them I would post them to the blog so they could remember their favs, so here they are! This first one is mainly a punchy card using the 1" and 1 3/8" Circle and the Round Tab punch. Frankie's hair has been free-hand cut with the Paper Snips. and this eyelids and nose have been sponged with Old Olive ink for depth and shadow:
GEDC3413
This cute little number uses packing tape and Dazzling Diamonds glitter, along with the Holiday Blitz and Heard From the Heart stamp sets! GEDC3412
And last-but-not-least, they fell in love with this card made by my downline, Jan, as one of her convention swaps. I LOVE when I get Christmas cards as convention swaps! I'm not ashamed to say I'm ready to start making Christmas cards in August!GEDC3411©Stampin Up!™1990-2008
This card uses one of the small flowers in "Fabulous Flowers", which has been inked in Creamy Caramel, then "Rock-n-Rolled" in Chocolate Chip ink. She used Real Red & Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write markers and a White gel pen to add the ginger-bready accents! It's hard to see but the heart peeking out of the 1-inch hole on the cardfront is made with the Scallop Circle punch! We will be making this card as part of my Christmas Design Studio & Mini Stamp-a-Stack on Oct. 17 & 18! Email me right away to reserve your spot to make 10 Christmas cards, two each of 5 different designs, as well as design your Christmas card & order the supplies! I will do the tedious part for you after the supplies arrive – I will cut the cardstock & prep all the supplies for you! Dontcha just LOVE this card?

Ski Slope Little Felt Flurries!

I love, love, love this new Ski Slope Designer Series Paper from the Holidy Mini ! (When this link is blue it means you CAN click on it to view!) I knew I was going to love it when I first saw it in the mini, but now that I have it, I love it even more! It is gorgeous with Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and Riding Hood Red!

This card also uses the Snow Swirled stamp set, an Antique Brass Build-a-Brad, an Ice Circle Rhinestone Brad, 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain, and Word Flurries rub-ons. This picture doesn't even do this card justice!

7This card also uses Little Felt Flurries, Snow Swirled5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, and Word Flurries.

8
This card uses the most retro-looking paper in the pack, IMHO, but I love it even more than the rest because of it! This time, the rub-ons have been switched out with the Seasonal Sayings rub-ons from the Holiday Happenings Level 3 Hostess Bundle!

9
In case you are wondering, I am attaching the Little Felt Flurries  and the Build-a-brads with either mini-glue dots or Stampin' Dimensionals. I built my brad by stamping on Whisper White Cardstock, punching the image with the 1/2" circle punch, layering it on the bare brad with SNAIL, added the clear adhesive disk, then cut off the brad legs with a pair of my Craft & Rubber Scissors (now that I have so few stamps that need trimmed they work great for cutting metal and Sticky Strip!). I then attched the brad with a Stampin' Dimensional.  The rub-on is in the Word Flurries pack!

GEDC3403All images ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2008
This last card I used Silver brads and a greeting from Many Merry Messages. All the inner verses for these cards came from either Many Merry Messages or the Snow Swirled Set. I also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig and the Ticket Corner punch on this one!

Aren't these great cards? I got my inspiration from Andrea Walford, a Canadian Demo I met on the Bermuda cruise. I gave each card my own little "twist" to make them mine.

I made a card holder for these beauties with Textured Baja Breeze Cardstock, but you will have to come to one of my classes for an opportunity to see & make it along with the cards!

One of my stamping friends, Becky, asked me Friday night at a technique class if I had this sample with me because she wanted to get the design into her head for possibly using as her Christmas card. Unfortunately, it had escaped my sample basket and was here at home on my stamping table, so I told her I would put it on my blog just for her. This sample uses the Sanded background stamp, Heard from the Heart, Elegant Cheer, and the Star and 1/4" Circle punches.A red gingham ribbon bow tops it all off. Simple but super cute!

A tip about this card: Use a strong adhesive, such as our Mini-glue dots, to attach the stars to the card, as the weight can cause the stars to separate from the card (aka: fall off!) as it is handled.

Enjoy Becky! Send me one, please!

Handmade Holiday Simply Sent Card Elements Kit and a Contest!

Handmade Holiday Simply Sent Card Elements Kit and a Contest!

These Simply Sent Card Elements Kits are so adorable in the catalog! I took one with me to Founder's Circle a couple of weeks ago, thinking I would make up all the cards and have them ready for display when I got home. These kits are sold separate from the coordinating stamp set shown in the catalog, so I didn't purchase the stamps, Home for the Holidays, thinking I would be happy with just what I could make with the kit. Boy was I wrong! You REALLY NEED the stamps to make these cards, otherwise you end up with cards like this:
GEDC3324

GEDC3331

GEDC3345

The only words are either printed right on the focal points or are 6 separate little strips that say "merry & bright", "happy holidays", and "tis the season". These were super easy to assemble, but pretty BOOOOOORING!

Fortunately for me, one of my new Founder's Circle friends, Pat Chastain, just happened to have the "Home for Holidays" set with her. Bless her, she let me borrow her stamps and I made these:

GEDC3346
These were better, but I am all about the backgrounds, so I was yearning for some wheels to spice things up! I had to wait until I got home to add the really cute stuff (AND of course I ordered my own "Home for the Holidays" set right away!)

Here is the result of adding wheeled backgrounds, taffeta ribbon, dimensionals, buttons, and felt flurries!
GEDC3329

I stamped the big snowflake from the new Holiday Mini set, Winter Post, in Riding Hood Red, then added a Riding Hood Red Little Felt Flurries snowflake and a Earth Elements & Neutrals Close to Cocoa button (which looks red in this picture, but it really IS Close to Cocoa!) I threaded the button with a tiny 1/16" wide strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock that I made with my  Stampin'' Up! Tabletop Paper  Cutter. It was extremely easy to cut that tiny strip, then thread through the button's holes, tie in a knot, and clip off! I attached the flurry and button to the card with a mini-glue dot.

Here's a contest: Everyone who leaves a comment about which ribbon they like best on these cards will have their name put in a drawing to receive an assortment of Little Felt Flurries and taffeta ribbons. (Click on this link to  look at them in the Holiday mini if you need to know what the rest of the Flurries look like: Holiday Mini You have from now until Saturday, October  4th to leave your comment and get in the drawing. I will announce the winner (which will be by a random drawing) on Sunday, October 5th!

Oh, and the other great thing about this and all the other Simply Sent Kits on pages  176 & 177 of the Fall/Winter 2008 Catalog: From October 4-11, the kits (but not the coordinating stamps) will be on sale! Check back with me here on Saturday, October 4th for details!

Here's my promise for tomorrow: I will be posting another pennant banner, this time for Christmas!
