Stampin’ Up! Serene Silhouettes Swap to Share!

Good morning! Still mining my swap stash while I play "catch-up" from being sick!

Todays card is one I don't really enjoy making, but they have to be done, don't they?

The creator of the card used Serene Silhouettes and Thoughts & Prayers stamp sets, the Oval Collection Framelits, the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder, Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Pool Party Core'dinations cardstock, and Island Indigo and Whisper White cardstock to create a truly serene, restful card.

I apologize for the poor lighting. I took these pictures while still stuck on the couch sick on Monday. Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers were used to ink up the flower image (what kind of flower IS that, anyway? I'm not a horticulturist!), then tiny Basic Jewel Pearls were added to finish them off sweetly.

Stampin’Up! Flower Fair Simply Scrappin’ Kit Cards!

Good morning! Yesterday I had my Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit Card Class, inspired by a Control Freak's Blog Hop I took a month or so ago. These cards are so bright and pretty with the colors of Regal Rose, Garden Green, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight, they really pop! Alas, the Regal Rose color is retiring, so when this kit retires at the end of May, this specific color combo will be gone forever!

Thought I would show you a card or two up close every day (there are 8 total). For starters, here's the groups of them all together (I couldn't fit all 8 of them in the same picture)

First, is my CASE of a Dawn Olchefske creation, I added the bling and the butterflies with the Bitty Butterfly punch. The stripes at the top are the opposite side of the floral side at the bottom.

I'm lovin' using the Make a Wish stamp set right now! I hope it carries over into the new catalog, which will be making its' debut on June 1st!

This card uses a very similar layout, but I used words and images from Thoughts & Prayers.

The floral spray image from this set is perfect for using Stampin' Write Markers to color it!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Sincere Salutations Get Well Mug!

Here's another great project that uses retiring Stampin' Up! products that I am not going to have enough time to fit into a class! I received this cutie in a swap a few months ago (November, actually, I think!). I featured it here a few weeks ago and have received requests to post the directions, so here you go!

Get Well Mug (sample and directions from a swap I received from Deb McCahan)

Sincere Salutations #115068 wood-mount-only $23.95 (retiring May 31, 2012)
Thoughts & Prayers #113252 wood-mount-only $25.95 Circle Circus #115778 wood-mount-only $28.95
Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold cardstock
Versamark, Riding Hood Red & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers, Sahara Sand Classic Pad
Simply Scored Scoring Tool, White embossing powder, Black embossing powder, Sticky Strip, Heat Tool, 1 ¼” and 2 ½” Circle punches, Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive

Paper Sizes:

One 9” x 4 ½” Very Vanilla cardstock One Very Vanilla scrap approx. 4” x 4”

One 9” x 1 ½” Riding Hood Red cardstock strip

To create Cup Form:

With 9” side of Very Vanilla cardstock up against the ruler of the Simply Scored, score at 1”, 2”, 3”, 4”, 5”, 6”, 7”, and 8”.
Repeat first step with 9” x 1 ½” Riding Hood Red cardstock strip.
Rotate paper ¼ turn. Align the 4 ½” side up against the ruler of Simply Scored. Score at 1 ½”.
Adhere Riding Hood Red strip to Very Vanilla layer with Tombow.
Stamp “Get Well” with Versamark. Emboss with White embossing powder and Heat Tool. Stamp remaining words and circles on cup with Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, and Sahara Sand ink.
Stamp medallion circle from Circle Circus on twice on Brushed Gold cardstock with Versamark. Emboss with Black embossing powder. Adhere to cup with Tombow.
Cut on each 1 inch score line up to where the score lines intersect. Remove small rectangular end piece and create a flap by notching the ends of the remaining tab. This flap will be used to hold the cup together.
Pre-fold all scores. Turn paper over and attach Sticky Strip to all flap ends.
Adhere flap to inside creating cup form. Adhere remaining flaps to the flap on the opposite side of cup.
To create handle use the 1 ¼” and 2 ½” Circle punches to create a ring. Cut the ring in half. Score ¼” flaps on each open end. Adhere half circles together with Tombow Multi-adhesive, but leave flaps open to attach to outside of cup with Tombow.

Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold cardstock
Versamark, Riding Hood Red & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers, Sahara Sand Classic Pad
Simply Scored Scoring Tool, White embossing powder, Black embossing powder, Sticky Strip, Heat Tool, 1 ¼” and 2 ½” Circle punches, Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive

Paper Sizes:

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Favor Box Not Retiring!

Here's a cute idea from the Spring Into Stamping Event, a Fancy Favor Box that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder! The Summer Smooches Fabric Brad in the center is out of stock, but the partial Paper Doily Die in the center is not and will be carried over from the Occasions Mini! YAY!

This would make a great wedding or shower favor, wouldn't it?

Next up is an actually quite simple card using the Lattice Big Shot Die and the scallop flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack!

I love how they clipped into the scallops of each flower just a little to give them more dimension! Sadly, the "Birthday Wishes" greeting is from "Sincere Salutations", a set that will be retiring on May 31st!

Lastly, here is a pretty little wedding/shower/engagement card using "Thoughts and Prayers" a set usually reserved for sympathy cards, (just shows the versatility of Stampin' Up!'s stamps!) along with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Folder and a phrase from "A Word for You".

This was definitely the crowning glory of the entire swap this month, Deb McCahan's get well soup mug! She combined the "get well" stamp from "Sincere Salutations" with the "get well" stamp from "Thoughts & Prayers" (both found on page 160 of the Idea Book & Catalog), and INCLUDED THE DIRECTIONS TO MAKE IT! JOY! JOY! You will be seeing this again as part of an upcoming class in the New Year for sure!
