Stampin’ Up! Abigail Cottage Rose!

Today I have a card to share that I created with the Abigail Rose Suite Collection found on pages 56-57 of the Annual Catalog! I wanted to play around with some of the different prints found in the Abigail Rose Designer Series paper pack and ended up with this pretty little birthday card!

I stamped the main floral image with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake card stock, then colored the rose and the leaves with ink pressed into the lids of Blushing Bride and Old Olive ink pads. I used a nearly empty Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush as my paintbrush so the colors also have a subtle hint of shimmer. After coloring I then cut it out with the coordinating Cottage Flowers Die.

I cut a piece of Natural Finish 7/8" Ribbon about 6 inches long, then pulled a few threads from the center of the ribbon to softly gather it. When I had it gathered to the approximately 4" length I needed I then adhered to the card front with Stampin' Seal. I adhered the die-cut floral image with Stampin' Dimensionals so it would rest over the ribbon gathers.

I stamped the birthday greeting, from Cottage Rose, with Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Crumb Cake, then used a label die from the Sending Dies set to cut it out. I adhered it to the card with dimensionals.

I created the pretty background with three strips of 1 1/4" x 5 1/4" Abigail Rose Designer Paper adhered to a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Basic White. Before adhering to the Crumb Cake card base I ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Stitched Greenery Die.

I usually stamp my inside sentiment on a layer of Basic White for Very Vanilla, but this time I decided to try the look of stamping on another Neutral, Crumb Cake, and use Basic White behind it for the mat layer.

So what do you think? I'm thinking this card will be my online ordering thank-you gift for September!

Stampin’ Up! Peace To You Alternate Card!

Hey there! Today I have the alternate card to share that I created for my stampers to choose to make at my Christmas in July in August Class earlier this month. This card uses the exact same supplies as the card I shared with you HERE, but with just a couple of changes. Some stampers even chose to make both versions of the card!

I used the two gorgeous stamp sets, Peace to You and Hope & Peace, from the July-December Mini Catalog, along with Heat Embossing and Texture Chic Designer Paper.

This card was really simple and quick to create. After heat embossing the nativity image from Peace to You with white embossing powder on Basic Gray card stock I used Paper Snips to cut around it evenly. You could you a Paper Trimmer, but it really wasn't hard to cut it out with the snips. Before adhering to the card front with dimensionals, I added a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon with a couple of lines of Stampin' Seal.

An embossed sentiment from Hope & Peace and a few Rhinestones finished off the card front nicely. Along with the first card I shared with you with this set, this card would be great for mass-producing for your Christmas card!

I stamped the inside sentiment, also from Hope & Peace, with Soft Succulent ink.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day August 28, Nature’s Prints!

Hey there! I've been under the weather this past week, so much so that I did not get to attend the Stampin' Up! BackStage Leader's Conference in New Orleans this weekend. I am on the mend with meds, so here I am with another Sunday Swap Day! All of the 14 cards you will see today were created with the Sun Prints Collection from pages 90-91 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog!

First, Carol Slack used a monochromatic color combo of Starry Sky and Basic White for her Nature's Prints creation, embossing the Starry Sky background with the Fern 3D embossing folder.

Next, Janace Charbonneau added pops of Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide to her card.

Emily Tull used the Neutral color Gray Granite for the card base of her pretty thank-you card.

Jan Rodrian also used Gray Granite, adding pearls and using a Blending Brush to add White Craft ink to the Starry Sky layer embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder.

Chris Wedell used three of the five 2022-2024 In Colors for her card: Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, and Sweet Sorbet!

Stampin’ Up! Pokemon Birthday For Liam!

Hey there! Today is my youngest son's 30th birthday, so I guess I can officially start feeling old! lol! Whether I "feel old" or not, I want to share this Pokemon card I made for my grandson Liam's 10th birthday. Liam is Pokemon crazy right now, along with another grandson, Oakley. They pour over their binders full of Pokemon cards, and were super excited when their Uncle Ben (my 30 year-old baby boy) contributed his vintage Pokemon cards to their collections!

This card won't fit into an envelope, but that was okay because I just had to attach it to his wrapped present!

I started with a standard 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock, scored and folded at 5 1/2. Then I used my Paper Snips to round the corners for the Pokemon face.

I used the largest leaf die from the Tulips dies to cut both Daffodil Delight an Basic Black to trim and layer together to create the unevenly placed Pokemon ears. I adhered them inside the card with liquid glue.

I used retired circle punches, which will never leave my punch collection to create the eyes and the cheeks. I have the punch sizes listed in the supply list farther down in this post, but don't bother to click on them as they will not take you to that product in my online store because they are retired. I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to hand-draw the nose and mouth. (I googled Pokemon to find an image I could use as my guide)

I stamped the greeting from A Grand Kid with Tuxedo Black ink.

The inside sentiment is also from A Grand Kid.

Stampin’ Up! Ringed with Nature!

Hey there! Today I have a lot going on. I have Fiona today, which always keeps me hopping, but she and her older brother Liam have doctor check-ups and I am taking them. Their doctor is also my doctor (they do not see a pediatrician) so I am familiar with the office and their protocol. (I'm ready in case we still need to wear masks, but I really doubt I will be able to keep a mask on 2 1/2 yr-old Fiona!)

So I just want to quickly share this little card I created while I was working on the cards for my Christmas in July in August Class. This card didn't make the "cut", so I'm the only one who has made it so far, but it did turn out cute!

I used the Ringed With Nature Bundle of stamps and embossing folder/dies, along with Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes, Early Espresso card stock and ink, Kraft 6 x 6 Paper, Real Red, Early Espresso, and Evening Evergreen ink, and Glimmer 12 x 12 Specialty Paper. All of the images and dies I used on this card are from the bundle. I used a Blending Brush to add Early Espresso ink to the card front and the slice of tree stump I stamped the house on before embossing with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder. The dies I used are also from the Tree Rings Embossing Folder set, although the name is a bit misleading due to only the folder being mentioned in the name. The Evening Evergreen Glimmer Paper I used to cut the leaves and stems to put behind the focal image is more deep green than the bluish-green color in the picture.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from the Ringed with Nature stamp set and cut the layers, just like I did on the front, with the Deckled Rectangles die set.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day August 21st, Best Butterfly!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, so you know what that means! Sunday Swap Day! Today all of the swaps I am sharing have been created with the Best Butterfly Bundle and Butterfly Kisses 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper!

First, Barb Mulliken's creation. Barb also used a Stylish Shapes Die and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Next, Lisa Marie Smith also used a Stylish Shapes die and Rhinestones.

Lisa also embossed the card front and the Calypso Coral strip across the middle of the card front with the Fern 3D embossing folder.

Jan Rodrian used Starry Sky, Calypso coral, and Crushed Curry on her book-binding-fold card!

Just adorable!

Lynn Feldkamp's creation is simple but stunning. She added Fun Flowers Resin Shapes along the bottom right edge!

Finally, another Jan Rodrian creation. Jan used the Stitched Greenery die to emboss the white background layer. She added a Fun Flower Resin Shape and a couple of 2022-2024 In-Color Matte Dots to complete her Fresh Freesia/Parakeet Party/Basic White color combo.

Stampin’ Up! Kindest Gnomes!

Hey there! Today I have another one of the cards we made at my Christmas in July in August class last weekend. This card was inspired by a swap I received from Laura Milligan with the Kindest Gnomes Bundle of stamps and dies and Storybook Gnomes Designer Paper. It's so cute!

One of the few changes I made from Laura's creation was to cut the gnome's hat and boots from Poppy Parade card stock. On Laura's original she used Calypso Coral, which did coordinate just fine, but the Poppy Parade just POPS more against the Storybook Gnomes Designer Paper print in the background and looks a little bit more "Christmas-y".

I cut 24 packets of each card for my class. I usually let my stampers cut everything out themselves with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, but I had Darcy (she's 7) visiting me a few days before class so I had her cut out all of the noses for these adorable little men from Petal Pink card stock. One thing I really like about these dies is the detail they add with the stitching around the hat, the texture to the beard, and the extra touches to the boots! We added a couple of snippets of Balmy Blue & White 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon to his hat with glue dots, then cut the ends at an angle to give the look of feathers. A Balmy Blue Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gem is this finishing touch.

The Poppy Parade-stamped greeting is from Kindest Gnomes, cut with a Seasonal Labels Die.

Inside we kept the stamping simple, with another Kindest Gnomes sentiment and a gnome down in the corner, all in Poppy Parade ink. I of course stamped the envelope!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday August 16!

Hey there! LOTS going on this past weekend! I had my Christmas in July in August Class on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, then Sunday we had our August Birthdays celebration. We have 6 August birthdays (mine is one of them), which is the most we have in any month so far, so it was a big day! School starts for most of us today so they didn't stay to late, but my internet was acting up and I couldn't work on my post until this morning. Then my daughter needed me to babysit her kiddos today, so I didn't get a chance to finish this post until late afternoon. I decided to schedule this post for Tuesday morning. As you can see, my life is very "fluid" right now!

I still have cards to share with you from Christmas in July, but I need to share this next set of swaps with you before I do later this week!

First, Judi Anderson combined the Go-To-Greetings stamp set with Awash in Beauty Designer Paper and the Gingham Embossing Folder. The Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Basic White and a strip of Balmy Blue color combo is so soothing and pleasing, coordinating so well with the font of the "Just a Note" greeting.

In this Flirty Flamingo-based card, Judi Anderson again created a pleasing combo with Merry Merlot, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, and Awash in Beauty Designer Paper. She stamped the "Thinking of You" with Mossy Meadow.

Cathy Seal used classic black & white with Go-To-Greetings and one of the two Fancy Frames Dies. I'd love to receive a packet of these as a gift, wouldn't you?

Beth Robinson created a fun-fold panel card with another one of the Go-To-Greetings, Lovely Linen Designer Paper and the Lovely & Lasting Bundle of stamps and punch.

This fun-fold has three levels of looks:

A connection between the two side-panels is accomplished with a strip of clear Window Sheet.

The final layer:

Joyce Feraco also used Lovely Linen Designer Paper with the Lovely & Lasting Bundle. She featured the Starry Sky 1/8" Metallic Ribbon to coordinate with the Night of Navy in the paper.

Finally, Sharon Bouck used the Pretty Pop-Ups Dies with Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent for her delicate card. She highlighted the pop-up features with Fresh Freesia ink added with a Blending Brush.

Stampin’ Up! Perched in a Tree!

Hey there! Today I have a pair of cards we will be making at my Christmas in July in August Class this weekend. My stampers will have the choice to make basically the same card, but with two choices of Painted Christmas Designer paper behind the Aspen Tree die-cut Kraft paper layer or to emboss the Aspen Tree die-cut layer with the Timber 3D embossing folder or not! Which one do you prefer?

Here is the un-embossed card. All of the stamped images and sentiments I used are included in the Perched in a Tree stamp set. You can buy the stamps and the dies together in a bundle or buy the stamps and then order other products to total $100 and get the Aspen Tree dies for free! This is a great Sale-a-bration deal, but only while supplies last or until August 31st!

This cute fat birdie is all fluffed out to keep warm in the cold! I added Clear Wink of Stella to him for a bit of shimmer, which of course doesn't show in the picture but looks great in real life!

I added color to the birdie, which is stamped with Soft Suede, using the splotchy stamp included in the Perched in a Tree set. Here are examples of the splotches stamped with full-strength Soft Suede and stamped-off-once Soft Suede. For the finished birdie I used stamped-off-twice Soft Suede before adding the Clear Wink of Stella.

I stamped the greeting with Soft Suede ink on Soft Succulent before cutting out with the larger leaf die-cut from the Aspen Tree Dies. I added a few Champagne Rhinestones for some autumn sparkle!

I cut one more Soft Succulent leaf and rhinestone to finish it all off!

Inside I embossed a Kraft layer with the Timber 3D embossing folder before adding a Soft Succulent layer stamped with another Perched In A Tree sentiment and the branch image with Soft Suede ink.

Here's the alternate sample with the pine cone Painted Christmas background and the Aspen Tree die-cut layer embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder.

Embossing the layer is an easy but elegant added touch!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer for Christmas in July!

Hey there! Today I am back with another card we will be making at my Christmas in July in August Class this weekend. I wanted to use the Peaceful Deer stamp set with the coordinating Deer Builder Punch because I didn't get to use it much last year, so I pulled both out and started to play!

I embossed the white background layer with the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder, as well as a separate white layer to fit inside the Evening Evergreen frame I cut with the Fabulous Frames die. After stamping the "oh what fun" deer with Real Red ink, I added the eye and nose with the fine tip of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I punched with the Deer Builder Punch, then adhered with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. You can't see in the picture, but I added touches of Clear Wink of Stella to the embossed layer behind the deer.

Evening Evergreen Windowpane Plaid Ribbon was tied in a simple knot. I added a Flat Jingle Bell Trinket just underneath the knot with a Mini Glue Dot.

Every image I stamped inside the card is from Peaceful Deer, stamped with either Real Red or Evening Evergreen ink.
