Happy Monday! Today's card features the next installment from my "Best of. . ." class series, "Best of Birthdays!" For this card I also used the new fun single stamp, "WhooHoo!":
We used TONS of new products on this card: "Print Poetry" Designer Paper Stack, Ovals Collection Framelit Dies, "Vine Street" Textured Impressions Folder, Designer Builder Brads, and "Itty Bitties" stamp set!
The colors for this card are Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, and Gumball Green. Although we have embossing powder in a large selection of colors, we do not have Raspberry Ripple. I was very pleased to try our Melon Mambo Embossing Powder and found it coordinated beautifully with Raspberry Ripple!
I wanted a to put a piece of Gumball Green between the Print Poetry oval shape and the Melon Mambo-embossed "Whoo Hoo!", but it needed to be pretty large and I didn't want it to be just a plain rectangle, so I cut it out with the "Two Tags" Bigz Die and the Big Shot. I love this look!
The inside of the card is where we used the "Best of Birthdays" stamp, the cute little gift in the bottom right corner:
Embossed again with the Melon Mambo powder, I did the same with the "happy birthday" from "Sassy Salutations".
I like to dress up the inside of my card to coordinate with the outside any time I can, so I added a sliver of the same "Print Poetry" paper to the bottom edge and added a strip of Gumball Green that I had cut out with one of the "Finishing Touches" Edgelits and the Big Shot.
Stampingrox! Tool Tip: Did you know if you cut out TWO layers of cardstock at the same time with this edgelit you will have a much easier time removing the little "eyelet" pieces? YES! Layer two identically-sized strips of cardstock on the Big Shot Platform and cut with the edgelit at all at the same time. As you remove the edgelit, the two pieces of cardstock will be squished together, but when you pull the them apart, almost magically the little eyelet pieces will fall out of the strip that was closest to the edgelit! You can discard the second strip if you like. The eyelet pieces of it will be harder to remove, but if you are a "frugal girl" you can use a Paper-Piercing Tool or the tip of your Paper Snips to remove those too and you will have another eyelet strip all ready for the next card!
Here's the class handout for this card:
Well, that's it from me for today! See you tomorrow for another "Stampingrox!" day!
