Stampin’ Up! Splendid Day Suite!

Hey there! A few weeks ago Stampin' Up! hosted an event for demonstrators called "Creativity Now". It was a stamping-only online event. Demonstrators were able to pre-order a suite of products, Splendid Day, to "stamp-along" with the presenters during the four hour event. A few of my registered team members gathered at my house to stamp-along with me and we had so much fun! I know many other demonstrators have already shared the projects, but I decided to share mine too just in case you missed the rest!

This first card was a fun and easy technique, creating a "watercolor" background with Light and Dark Pool Party and Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends! We stamped the bees in Pool Party and Fresh Freesia directly on the "watercolor", then added it to a piece of the beautiful Splendid Day Designer Paper that had been adhered to the Soft Sea Foam card base. Soft Sea Foam die cuts, from the Splendid Stems Dies, were tucked behind the greeting banner stamped with Fresh Freesia ink. A few inches of Soft Sea Foam 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon were folded in half to leave the ends peeking out from behind the greeting banner as well. This card will make a perfect wedding card!

We created this background with Calypso Coral card stock, embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder, then added white craft ink with a Blending Brush. We stamped some foliage on Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink card stock with black ink, cut them out with Splendid Stems dies in addition to Basic White card stock with some of the same dies. I cut the designer paper with another Splendid Stems die and adhered to the card front with dimensionals. I then adhered the die cuts with liquid glue and glue dots. You could also use Adhesive Sheets to adhere. I wrapped the ribbon around the Calypso Coral layer to tie in a bow. I adhered the whole layer to the Basic White Thick card base with dimensionals. I stamped the greeting with black ink and hand-cut to add to the front of the designer paper "flower pot".

For this card we created our own background paper by heat embossing with white powder the irregular "dots" with white powder. We cut three of the same die cut from three different designs of the Splendid Day Specialty paper, then added with tiny dots of liquid glue. I decided to leave this card with no greeting so I could use it for any occasion!

For this final card we stamped the leaves on the Petal Pink card base with Petal Pink ink, then layered with the die-cut pieces, the die-cut greeting, and ribbon.

Atreyu Zion!

If you stopped by today for my usual Sunday Swap Day, that feature of my blogging schedule will resume on Sunday, August 7th. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy today's blog about my newest grandson and a delicate and fun Wisteria Wishes card!

Hey there! My two weeks off turned into almost the whole month of July! This month has been a crazy whirlwind of taking care of Alisa's family (and snuggling Atreyu!), a BIG stampin' party of 24 people for my hostess Cindy in New Minden, a birthday sleep-over at my house for Oakley, another stamping party for Sandra in Marion, babysitting four granddaughter's and a grand-dog for almost a week while the families were at the National Association of Free Will Baptists National Youth Conference, and another birthday/swim party for Cyndal yesterday! Today is the first day in a long time that I haven't had someone extra either coming or going from my house, but I've loved every minute of it! (I will admit I am a bit extra tired, but still loved it! )

All of this busyness has taken a toll on my stamping and sharing time, that's for sure! I want to get back to a more regular schedule of stamping and sharing, especially since the first month of Sale-a-bration is almost over and only the month of August is left!

First, I want to share just a few pics of my newest grandson, Atreyu Zion Hiller, born on July 5th, 2022 at 6:09 a.m.! He is the biggest (so far) of Alisa's babies, weighing in at 8 lbs, 12 oz. We are totally smitten with him already!

Now I have a re-do of a Wisteria Wishes card to share that I shared with you earlier. This card is a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) of a swap card I received from Daveda Leppke.

I used Fresh Freesia for the card stock base and layer, along with Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen ink. I used Soft Succulent for the matting behind the stamped layers.

I embossed the Fresh Freesia background layer with the Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder to add some detailed texture. I stamped the vines and leaves with Soft Succulent ink, then added the wisteria blooms, which are all three on one stamp, with stamped-off-once Fresh Freesia ink. I then added more bloom detail with the single wisteria bloom from the set, using full-strength Fresh Freesia ink.

I stamped the greeting, included in the Wisteria Wishes set, with Evening Evergreen ink. I added a few Pastel Pearls to finish the card front.

Inside I stamped another Wisteria Wishes sentiment and a few more wisteria blooms.

Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden from Martha!

Hey there! We are still waiting on Alisa's baby to make his appearance! I know a lot of girls these days allow themselves to be induced as soon as the doctor will schedule it, but Alisa has always had a different approach. She believes it is better for her and her baby to wait until the baby is ready to come. Now, granted, she has always had uncomplicated deliveries. I was unable to be present for her last two, Cyndal was born the morning Mark & I got off the boat from a Stampin' Up! Alaska cruise, and Avara was born during Covid lockdown. If all goes as planned I will be able to be present for Atreyu's birth. I was in the room for Oakley, Lando, and Ivory's births, and each one was so special. Alisa's doctor has stated that all babies are born by 42 weeks and 6 days and yesterday was 42 weeks, so come on Atreyu!

Note: This post may be my last for a couple of weeks, or my posts may be sporadic during that time. I will be busy helping with Alisa's older 5, as well as cooking and laundry. I will be sleeping at her house on the couch, and her internet is not good as she currently lives out in the "boonies" in a metal-sided and roofed house. So please don't give up on checking my blog!

The card I'm sharing today is one I received from a member of my team, Martha Swift. Martha is sweet lady and an exceptionally classy stamper. She used the Dragon Fly Garden stamp set and Dragonfly Punch for her creation:

Martha created a frame by cutting designer series paper with a Stitched Rectangle Die, adhered a window sheet to the back of the paper, then mounted it on the card front with the white stamped layer underneath, with Foam Adhesive Strips. She used Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron Stampin' Write Markers on the flower image to get both colors with one stamping. She also stamped and punched the Dragonfly with the Dragonflies Punch to mount on the stamped white layer with dimensionals.

The greeting, also stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink, is also from the Dragonfly Garden set.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey there! Happy Fourth of July! I'm so thankful to be an American and have had the privilege to live in the U.S.A. all my life! We started our church service yesterday morning with the Star Spangled Banner and everyone standing to face the flag. Such a great way to honor God & country!

Today's card was created by one of my customers, Sharon McBride. Sharon has been stamping for many years, even before she discovered Stampin' Up! products. She said in her handwritten note inside the card "this card is a relic! One of the very first I made, probably 35 years ago, at least, when I used only paper, stamps, inks, punches, and a few embellishments! Today – so many amazing products! I know this card is a "plain Jane" card!"

Sharon, I BEG TO DIFFER! This is a lovely card with LOTS of fun "bells & whistles"!

In addition to classic Red, White, Blue, and Silver card stocks and inks, she heat embossed with a sparkly powder the fireworks!

She used a cute small star punch . .

She stamped the wavy red lines, hand-drew the silver lines over each one, then stamped silver stars. She added punched red, blue, and silver stars with dots of glue, then added the white star clip as the finishing touch!

NOT a "plain Jane" card at all!

Although this card was not created with Stampin' Up! products, I love it and see the potential for CASEing with the layout, colors and embellishment ideas!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day July 3rd!

Hey there! It's Sunday again, which means it's time for Sunday Swap Day! yay!

I know everyone may be busy with Fourth of July gatherings, and we are getting a bit anxious about the arrival of Alisa's new baby boy, Atreyu, so I will just jump right in and start sharing the swaps I have for you today!

First, a pretty swap card created with the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer Paper. The Blossoming Happiness dies in the bundle cut out the blooms in some of the designer paper sheets!

The inside greeting is also from the Happiness Abounds set. This swap has no creator name.

Shelly Gruber used the Potted Geraniums Bundle with Deckled Rectangle Dies and Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper:

I love how the Geranium Dies allow layering that creates depth!

The inside sentiment is from Potted Geraniums. I love the look that the Deckled Rectangle Die gives to this layer!

Barbara Dykhouse also used the Potted Geraniums Bundle. She used the Dots & Spots Die to cut the Basic Black background for a striking contrast to the Sweet Sorbet geranium blooms!

Soooo pretty!

Linda Cullen used the Treasured Kindness stamp set (which has no coordinating dies, gasp!) with Artisan Additions Dies, Deckled Rectangle Dies, Design a Daydream Host Designer Paper, Label Me Fancy Punch, and Brushed Metallic Dots.

She used one of the Artisan Additions Dies to cut the design on the card front.

Another swap from Barb Dykhouse, this time with the Wisteria Wishes Bundle, Deckled Rectangles, and Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder:

Such a pretty addition to the inside of the card!

Kathy Morgan also used the Wisteria Wishes Bundle with the Split Card Textures Dies. I don't have these dies, but I think they will be on my next order!

This last swap was created with a combination of Wisteria Wishes and Eden Dies. Rhonda Bassler used a striking color combo of Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party for her side-easel card.

The inside sentiment is from Potted Geraniums. I love the look that the Deckled Rectangle Die gives to this layer!

Barbara Dykhouse also used the Potted Geraniums Bundle. She used the Dots & Spots Die to cut the Basic Black background for a striking contrast to the Sweet Sorbet geranium blooms!

Soooo pretty!

She used one of the Artisan Additions Dies to cut the design on the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Silver Trees For Sale!

Hey there! I've been very busy getting "my ducks in a row" before my daughter has her baby boy, Atreyu. Where she got the name is a story for another day, but as of today she is 41 weeks and 5 days. She has gone over two entire weeks before, and this is baby #six, so we shall see! She will be 42 weeks on the Fourth of July, so maybe we will have a "firecracker baby"?!

Today I have another card to share with you that I created with the Trees for Sale stamp set from the brand-new July/December Mini Catalog that just launched yesterday, and the Tree Lot Dies that I chose as my free gift with a $100 order from the Sale-a-bration Brochure!

I had an idea of what I wanted this card to look like when finished, so I started with an Evening Evergreen card base, then added a layer of Silver Foil Specialty cut 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".

After rubbing the 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Evening Evergreen with the embossing buddy found in the NEW Embossing Editions Tool Kit, I stamped the trees, snowflakes, and greeting with Versamark, sprinkled with Silver Embossing Powder, and then used my Heat Tool to make them all raised and shiny before I embossed the layer with the Cascading Ruffles 3D embossing folder and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

I cut detailed trees from Evening Evergreen using Tree Lot dies, then adhered over the silver embossed trees with tiny dots of liquid glue.

I turned the layer so the Cascading Ruffles 3D embossing folder gave the card front a look of gently rolling hills. The greeting is from the new Hope & Peace stamp set, also found in the July/December 2022 Mini Catalog on page 40! I added this layer to the card front with dimensionals so I could wrap a 15" length of Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon around it and tie in a pretty knot. I secured the knot with a Mini Glue Dot. I highlighted the greeting with a small Rhinestone on each side.

Inside I added a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" layer of Smoky Slate card stock, then an embossed Evening Evergreen layer. I finished up the inside with a Basic White 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" layer stamped with another sentiment from Hope & Peace and more tree stamps from the Trees For Sale stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink.
