Happy Friday Stampers!
I know I am a little later than normal with today's post, but we had a crazy evening last night. I spent part of my afternoon at my daughter's getting ready for a yard sale, but had to leave early to go the the funeral home visitation for my husband's great-uncle, Danny Fowler. He was quite an interesting man: one of 13 children, had a twin named Sammy, a farmer, hay-baler (he owned a baler and did alot of the hay-baling around here for YEARS), father to 5 children (one of which is a missionary in France), insurance agent (long ago I worked for the same small company he did, so had the opportunity to have some good conversations with him), and just a few months ago gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized, wheelchair and all, in a local pond! His family had been concerned about where he would spend eternity, but they don't have to worry now, praise the Lord! He was a good man, and will be missed by a large company of family and friends.
I promised you all a Christmas Banner today, and here it is:
This is another project made with the Pennant XL Bigz Die (which is a Stampin' Up! exclusive) and the Big Shot. This banner is smaller than the Thanksgiving one I showed earlier this week:Thanksgiving Banner , but is on the same die with the big pennant, so you actually get two for the price of one with this die! I wheeled the Bold Showflakes with a Whisper White Craft cartridge, then die cut the "Peace, Love, Joy, Cheer" words with Chocolate Chip cardstock using the "Join in the Cheer" Decorative Strip Die. I cut the words apart and SNAILED them on. The stars are Shimmery White cardstock attached with mini-glue dots.
Here's a couple of details from the Thanksgiving banner too:
I used the baby-wipe technique to stamp the leaf from With Gratitude, used the embossing buddy over it, then stamped the Well Worn Alphabet with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, and clear embossed.
I really love how these both turned out, but have more ideas for another Christmas banner, so hopefully will have another one to show you in the near future.
I have another crazy day today: finish setting up the yard sale today, a Techniques Class in Hoyelton tonight, spend the night at my daughter's, yard sale tomorrow morning, then my downline is coming for their monthly Techniques Class tomorrow evening! Whew! I will be taking a break from blogging over the weekend, but will be back at it again on Monday, unless something else awesome comes along before then (which could happen!)so at least check back then!
Have a great first weekend of October!
