My hostess Sandy also requested a Christmas project for her camp, so I decided I wanted to have them make a Christmas tag. I looked and looked on all my favorite inspirational spots but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I even CASED some tags from other sources, but it wasn't until I designed this one myself that I was excited! Lookie:
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2009
I started with a 4" X 2/3/8" Chocolate Chip base that I punched the edge with the Scalloped Border punch, then added a 2 3/8" X 1 1/2" strip of Merry Moments DSP layered on a Real Red 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" strip. I stamped the Santa postage stamp from "Christmas Punch" a Level 2 Hostess set in Real Red, punched it out with the 1 1/4" Square punch, then layered it on a Real Red Scalloped Square. I stamped the "Simple Snowflake" single stamp in Real Red on Very Vanilla, then punched it out with the Jumbo Snowflake punch. I attached the Snowflake to the tag with a Real Red Bold Brights brad. The "to: from: " from the"Christmas Punch" set is stamped in Real Red on Very Vanilla, then punched out with the Modern Label punch (LOVE that punch!) I finished off the tag with a Jumbo eyelet set with my Crop-a-dile, then threaded Real Red gingham ribbon through it!
I have loved making tags for years, even before my Stampin' Up! days I would cut up old Christmas cards with pinking shears to make my own tags. It was actually the allure of being able to stamp my own Christmas tags to match my paper that got me into stamping in the first place, so it feels like coming home to design and play around with this tag!
Leave me a comment about this tag and I will put your name in a drawing for a "Christmas Punch" stamp set, okay?
Ta for now!
