Stampin’ Up! Full of Love!

Hey there! I've been MIA again for awhile, and to be completely honest, I've kind of gotten out of my "groove" of posting on my blog. After the fiasco of Typepad being down for almost 3 weeks in October it's been really hard to get back in the habit, but I do have some cards lined up to share with you and tons of swaps to share from my monthly swap as well as the swapping I did at the Stampin' Up! OnStage Local I attended in Indianapolis, Indiana earlier this month, so don't give up on me, please!

The card I have to share today I created for the monthly swap I have participated in for many, many years. Most month's have some sort of theme, or at least a direction to go with while we are creating, and this months' theme was to create a card with a tag. I used an Annual Catalog stamp set, Full of Love, and the Very Best Trio Punch from the July-December Mini Catalog:

I started by stamping the floral letter image with Memento ink on the Basic White background layer, then stamping it again on the Basic White layer for the tag. I stamped a greeting from the Full of Love stamp set, then embossed the stamped white layer with the "happy birthday" folder from the Let's Celebrate Embossing Folders.

I punched both the white tag front and the Pool Party layer with the Very Best Trio Punch, flipping the strips over to punch to opposite corner so they curve would match. I punched the top of the tag with the ribbon slit from the same punch before coloring the tag and the background around the flowers with the Stampin' Blends I have listed in below. I then adhered the tag layers together, added the ribbon, and then adhered over the stamped and embossed white layer to achieve a "spotlighted look".

Inside I stamped another phrase from Full of Love, as well as the single bloom in the lower left corner. I added a trio of tiny blossoms with Pool Party ink. I repeated these motifs on the coordinating envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Prints from Stephanie!

Hey there! I'm sorry there was no blog post yesterday. Sunday night when I was working on my post the online service I use to add my watermark to my photos refused to work properly, so I took it as a sign that I needed to just go to bed, so I did! I was extra tired from a busy weekend of a stamping party on Friday night, a craft fair on Saturday, and the usual church and family dinner on Sunday. I even got to babysit for Scarlett for a couple of hours Sunday night! It was a weekend, but I was tired.

So today I'm starting a series of sharing some special swaps I have received over the past few months that I have been saving for just such a series! So expect to be wow'd over the next few days, ok?

The card I'm sharing today was created by my friend Stephanie Flath!

Stephanie used the Nature's Prints stamp set and an easy ink-dragging technique to give this card a unique look!

Stephanie started with a strip of Basic White, then used the open ink pad to drag some color on it. She started with Fresh Freesia on the left side, then dragged some Pool Party, then Old Olive, and finally Daffodil Delight. After she let the ink dry a few seconds she stamped the foliage spray with Tuxedo Black ink randomly.

She stamped the greeting from Nature's Prints with Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White, then stamped the same greeting again on a scrap of Daffodil Delight. She used Paper Snips to cut closely around just the "heartfelt" word on the Daffodil Delight, then added it to the full stamped greeting. She cut it out with a Stylish Shapes die, then added to her card with dimensionals. She added a couple of Pool Party Glossy Dots.

Before she added anything to the card front she used the splatter stamp included in Nature's Prints to add more interest to the bottom edge of the card, then added a Daffodil Delight Glossy Dot.

This technique and card layout would be perfect for many different types of cards! I'm going to use both in the near future!

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings!

Hey there! Today I have a fall-ish card I created with the Soft Seedlings stamp set! I love fall card making! My favorite colors are the dark rich colors of fall, and I love creating cards with them. The colors I used today are Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Very Vanilla.

I used a super-easy technique to combine Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze on the leaves. I stamped the leaf and seeds with Pumpkin Pie, then dragged the Cajun Craze ink pad directly on the inked stamp before stamping on the Very Vanilla layer.

I accented the leaf and the greeting with Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I added 1/2" x 5 1/4" strips of Metallic & Shimmer 6 x 6" Specialty paper to the top & bottom of the vanilla strip before adding to the card front with dimensionals.

Inside I breathed on the leaf stamp to re-moisten the leftover ink to stamp in the opposite corners. The Cajun Craze stamped sentiment is also from Soft Seedlings.

I created a second version with a design added to the right side with one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush with Pumpkin Pie ink.

I think I probably should have used a lighter touch with my Blending Brush so the "hello" would show up a little more. I'll remember that next time I use the masks over a greeting.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but I embossed a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Soft Suede with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder for both cards. One card I left the embossed layer as it came out of the folder . . .

and the other card I used the Blending Brush to add Pumpkin Pie ink to make the raised design show up better. Can you tell which card is which? Which one do you prefer?

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 11th!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, which of course means it's time to share some swaps! We are going to my oldest daughter's church today to see our grandson, Jaxon, be baptized. We are so thankful he has decided to accept the Lord as his Savior and follow Him in obedience of being baptized!

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose for Christmas!

Hey there! Today is my and my hubby's 45th Wedding Anniversary! 45 years of love, work, prayers, and praise! Six kids (three boys & three girls), three son-in-laws, two daughter-in-laws, 14 grandchildren (8 girls and 6 boys), one more grandson coming in December, and one grandson-in-law! Yes, our lives are a bit of a happy chaos!

Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels

I created my card today with the Cottage Rose Bundle. I used the Angled Front Fold fun-fold that I learned when I CASED this fun-fold card HERE.

I stamped the rose with Sweet Sorbet ink, cut it with the coordinating Cottage Flowers die, and then swiped on some Clear Wink of Stella. Because the Sweet Sorbet is a Classic ink, the Wink of Stella makes the Sweet Sorbet "move" (you can also say "smear") to give a light Sweet Sorbet look all over the bloom in addition to the Wink of Stella Shimmer.

The greeting is from Hope & Peace, heat embossed on vellum with Evening Evergreen ink and Clear embossing powder. I punched it with the Lasting Label and punched a second label from Basic White to go behind it.

I added a gold Adhesive-Backed Flower Trinket to coordinate with the Vanilla & Gold 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon. I mounted the bloom and the Label on layer of vellum embossed with the Quatrefoil Tiles embossing folder layered onto a Basic White cut with a Scalloped Contours die.

Inside I cut the Basic White sentiment layer with the same Scalloped Contours die, then stamped another Hope & Peace sentiment with Evening Evergreen ink and the same Cottage Rose with Sweet Sorbet. Note: I stamped the bloom before cutting with the Scalloped Contours die, then stamped the sentiment after.

Stampin’ Up! Simply Fabulous from Julia!

Hey there! Today I have a simply fabulous card from my friend from my Demonstrator Council days, Julia Mazur! Julia used the Simply Fabulous stamp set with 2022-2024 In Colors to create a super-simple but wonderful card!

This card requires no Stampin' Cut & Emboss or fancy embellishments. The colors she used of Starry Sky, Parakeet Party, and Sweet Sorbet do all the work!

This is such a great all-purpose card! Julia used only images from the Simply Fabulous set with Starry Sky, Sweet Sorbet, and Parakeet Party ink. She used a couple of the designs from the 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper, and put it all on a Starry Sky card base. This card didn't need much in the way of embellishments, so she just added a bow tied with Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine and adhered with a mini glue dot!

The Simply Fabulous stamps are photopolymer (clear) which makes them easy to line up!

She even added fun stamping to the front of the envelope! Love it!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! We are currently on our way home from Branson after spending a lovely weekend away. You would think with grown children we would have more time alone, but we really don't. We spend a lot of our time, especially me, with our kids and grandchildren, and of course Mark is still farming, so we do really enjoy our annual anniversary trip. We saw some shows, did some shopping, and ate good food!

Today I am sharing my usual Sunday Swap Day card with you. Today's cards feature the Happiest of Happy and Wild & Sweet stamp sets!

First, a faux Center-Step card by Amy Rich with the Happier Than Happy Bundle and Happy Forest Friends Designer Paper:

Next, Laura Milligan did her white space magic with the same Happier Than Happy Bundle and Happy Forest Friends Designer.

Lanine Pohlman also used the Happier Than Happy Bundle, cutting the bear directly out of one of the sheets of Happy Forest Friends Designer Paper with a Happy Forest Die.

She turned her side-fold card into a gift-card holder.

Alejandra Gomez used the Timber 3D embossing folder on the Sahara Sand layer, before adding the strip of Happy Forest Friends Designer paper. The greeting is from the Cottage Rose stamp set, the die she used to cut it out is from the All That Dies, the Mossy Meadow square was cut with a Stylish Shapes die, the ribbon is from the Old Olive and Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack, and the Brushed Brass Butterfly is discounted on the Weekly Deals right now!

Lynn Feldkamp used Wild & Sweet stamps with the Fern 3D embossing folder, tearing, and sponging with Blending Brushes or Sponge Daubers.

Finally, Carol Slack combined the black-and-white look of the Wild & Sweet Panda with Parakeet Party.

Stampin’ Up! Apple Harvest!

Hey there! Today I have the full Apple Harvest card I shared a sneak peek of yesterday. I used the Apple Harvest Bundle (stamp set & dies, available while-supplies-last or until September 30th) with Gingham Cottage Designer Paper. I used a new-t0-me-fold, the center pop-out fold, shared recently by Wendy Cranford with a card base of Garden Green!

After stamping the apple branch and blossoms with Tuxedo Black ink I then used Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Soft Suede, So Saffron, and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Markers to color. After cutting out with the coordinating Apple Blossoms die, I colored around the edges with a Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends and added touches of Clear Wink of Stella to the redness of the apples.

I stamped the greeting, included in the Apple Harvest set, with black ink and then cut with the label die included in the Apple Blossoms dies. I added a small bow tied with Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.

There are so many pretty images in the Apple Blossom set to color!

After stamping and coloring the largest apple image I used the Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to line around it. I also ran the same marker around the outside of the sentiment layer to give the look of another layer. I decided to leave the sentiment layer free of any words so I can add a personal note later.
